its the decision making thats killing my confidence.

grabban despite his clear lack of form
martin - cb/rb?? make your mind up
partner for turner - cuellar one game, hoiiveld, martin - hopeless
inability to get some defencive structure into capable players
persisting with two up front when its not working
refusing to make subs early enough when patently needed
dull insipid slow build up play through midfield (sound familiar to hughton yet?)
its weeks since we have had a starting 11 that looks sensible.

Just to go back to the other point, if Hughton was in charge we'd be top 6. His record in this league is phenomenal.

It goes back to with 5 games to go why sack him? He should have seen the season out and then gone then or been even given a chance as you say, due to his record. However he was so unpopular that it was never going to happen.

Surely, the few who believed Adams was the 'best' appointment in the Summer have now seen enough football to revise their opinions?

I think we have. But he had to be given a chance once given the job. It just seems like has not got a clue what his best line up is and doesn't recognise when it isn't working.
However, now the frustration of this afternoon is dissipating, I realise that the board will do nothing until Phelan is on board. Directors, like generals, are there to make the right decisions. Ours haven't a great record for making the right ones.
I would ask those who attended the game today what the mood was. It sounded like booing when their first went in.

The atmosphere has been poor for a long time now. There was some booing today at various moments but not coming from the Barclay/ Snake put so much IMO . Some at the end today but have heard worse. It would have been different if Hoopper hadn't struck!

There was no atmosphere for much of the game especially in the first half. It's been like that for a few games now, really awful.

Things arent right, but we have a new element in Phelan coming in now. Lets see what influence this has. Look what happened in our League One season - no season is lost by xmas. I remember one season that Millwall were top of the league at xmas and looked like running away with it - they got relegated on the last day.
We have time, let Phelan settle in and see if things pick up. If they dont, Phelan will hopefully be settled in enough to take over. Presumably he is the only person likely to take over as most managers would want to bring in their own man. Phelan probably considers himself too big a fish for anything else, and the board wouldnt let him be flushed out with a managerial change, they clearly consider him a coup.
If Phelan is taking over, best let him settle in gradually alongside Neil. Dont think Phelan taking over tomorrow would be a good thing but maybe later when he's got the measure of things

If the poll on this site is representative, Adams with support at 29% is higher than I would have expected. So, I suspect he still has quite a few more games in him.

On one hand he saying we missed chances to win the game but then says that conceding is the problem.

Bonkers central defence selection for me today. Brighton will freely admit that their offensive weakness is that they do not have a target man. They are going with movement and pace. So we go with two big but slowish central defenders! Why??

Who are this "group" exactly, and does this include players, if who is in charge of the team?
Is he trying to run a democracy where the players decide how they play, if so what is the point in having a manager? He should be saying "This is how I want my players to play".
Has he struggled to assert his authority?
Also, this goes back to what I said earlier about wanting a manager willing to grind out a scrappy 1-0 where necessary. What kind of lunatic has a policy which says a team must always go gung ho, because I'm pretty sure Lambert wasn't afraid to get his teams to close up shop by bringing on an extra midfielder, time wasting, and getting the ball in the corner for the last few minutes to preserve points.

Well, I said that I won't answer this until after the Brighton game.
I really like Adams as a person. Seems like a nice guy and clearly is Norwich through and through, but unfortunately he has to go now. On the whole today was pretty poor, and to concede 3 goals at home to a team that have struggled to put the ball in the net all season is ridiculous.
He won't go yet though, simply because Phelan doesn't start to 'assist' him until later this week. And I really hope that Adams can turn it round for the club and his own sake, but if it was down to me, I personally would sack him.
So yeah, I've voted 'Out'.

I said that we should give him until Xmas but I'm really deflated after today. Yet another shambolic performance against a really poor Brighton side. At the moment we can pretty much forget about promotion and need to wake up to the fact that we may be facing a relegation battle unless something changes.
I'm a reluctant "in" at the moment but that's based on the hope that we will turn it around soon rather than any vote of confidence in the management team.

As a group we want to attack. We may do so but its painfully slow and dull. Plenty of sideways passing but limited movement and no width

Our judgment, and probably rightly so, is all about the result at the moment. But it was a performance that could, and probably should, have delivered a 5-3 win. In which case we would have been saying what a cracking game of football.
If we could not win then that game just about had it all. 6 goals, one of them spectacular, a penalty, a sending off and enough very good chances created by us to have won easily. Compare that to the dour 0 - 0s against Newcastle! Last season we demanded a change to entertainment. Well entertainment does not always equal victory!
I admire your optimism and hanging in there Andy. Most of us it would appear have already seen enough. But with Mike Phelan coming in I think he will be given a few more games. The next 3 I think are significant. 6 or 7 points and he will get more time, a couple of home draws and a defeat and then I think time will be called. What happens Monday to Friday should lay the foundation of what we see on Saturday, so my hope is that Phelan can get it sorted. At least with Phelan's appointment we have hope - we could not have said that this time last week!
