John Cross of the Daily Mirror just tweeted that he's gone to Forest.

Don't know if he's reliable, guess we'll know later on or tomorrow.

The addition of a very mobile and quick front man to the match day options would be great. If he goes to Forest then thats not so bad as I understand they have a few of the top teams to play.

If the Mirror rumour is true then it may force us to look elsewhere at someone with more experience .

If true, I wonder if the failure to find cover for Grabban's injury is the reason for Simmond's departure.

We're probably fine with the strikers we have if none of them get injured, but it's a serious risk.

If I were Akpom, I'd be looking to choose a team where I'd be playing/starting.

He'll most likely be coming on from the bench here, but will almost certainly play more football at Forest, so it's a sensible choice if true.

Akpom has joined Forest on loan, got to admit I was never too worried if we signed him or not, as mentioned above he was likely only to be used as a sub here, one positive to come from him joining Forest is that they still have to play Wolves, Brentford, Watford and Ipswich, so if he helps them take a few points against those teams then good on him

Leaves us possibly a bit short, but also was not convinced by Akpom. There is also Becchio available I suppose as well as Jerome, Hooper, Loza and Morris so not too much of an issue for 8 games really.

I wasn't sure that Akpom was the right player either to be honest. Was on loan in League One last season and failed to score, so I doubt he could do it at the top end of the Championship. Never seen him play admittedly but it comes across like we're just trying to bring in anyone who can play up front because were short in that position.

I agree with dj161 that Akpom wouldn't get as much playing time here, as well as his point that Forest "still have to play Wolves, Brentford, Watford and Ipswich", which could benefit us big-time, especially given that they have recently beaten both Boro and Bournemouth.
