Is this a defining day in our History?

Today we sit 7th in the League, and with the 2nd youngest manager in the Football League.

We have a young, up and coming, potential filled Manager that looks like a Mitchell brother, rather than that nice bloke from Bournemouth, whom you wouldn't mind your daughter bringing home for tea.

Lots of 'Lambertesque' comparisons from non Norwich people, gives us more and more optimism as each hour goes on.

Could Neil Adam's unusual decision to 'stand aside', when the Club is where it is,  be a  defining moment?

We are currently needing one or two tweaks, I feel, to fulfil all the pre-season hype/promise etc, and Alex Neil could be the difference

A gamble? There is an element of that, but , in the Board we (MUST) trust.

Only if we now go on an unbelievable run that leads to automatic promotion, which is unlikely. A play-off place at least was expected even with NA in charge, so that wouldnt make it a defining day. Now the 1-7 vs Colchester was a real defining day.....

I think if we beat Bournemouth it could well be. The gap gets closed and all of a sudden the task is less of an impossibility and the optimism is back. Difficult to know what to expect from today, its one game too soon really. Lets just hope the unpredictability works in our favour

But DubaiMark, that 1-7 was a day where none of us, were thinking about the Prem. We are currently in a finely balanced situation, which could go either way, therefore sharpening the thinking somewhat (from Board room level, down to mine)

Crabby time will tell of course but this feels like a season defining moment. To win this game in these circumstances with this performance and this positive approach changes everything and should be the base for an entirely different second half to this season.

I agree that there was a reasonable likelihood of us getting into the play-offs under Adams, so for this to be a defining moment we need that to improve to a top 2 place. There's still a long way to go for that to happen, but yesterday was a six-pointer against Bournemouth to keep that possibility open, but the Ipswich loss at home added to Watford losing and Boro drawing has closed the gap considerably. City now have 3 of the next 4 games at home for an ideal chance to close the gap further. Enter Alex Neil for what could then be a crucial run of results.

We have had a few "false dawns already this season, and even under Hughton, so the temptation is to say "wait a few games". We want to believe that we have really turned the corner this time, but hopes have been dashed before.

I am encouraged by the result from Bournemouth, and particularly the way we kept out Bournemouth with only ten men. I am even more encouraged by the stance of the new manager and his psychology. I can understand how he persuaded his Scottish team to perform heroics. We have weaknesses in the team still, especially at right back and wide left, as well as central defence at times, but if Neil can get them playing well and committedly as a team, I think that we shall be more consistent and improve. The number of fouls we were alleged to have committed yesterday suggests that the squad are "up for it", and we shall be harder to beat.

So here's hoping, - we may not get an automatic promotion position, but I am more confident of being in the play-offs.

I think many of us have felt the 'false dawn' effect [SIZE=13.63636302948px]by now [/SIZE][SIZE=13.63636302948px]to[/SIZE] expect too much, Salopian, but the lure of football lies in sensing that a good run is just around the corner. As it is, the Bournemouth result has squeezed the table enough to allow hope for now. We're now only 3 points behind where Lambert's Championship promotion side was at this stage so let's buy into that hope rather than any exaggerated expectations and set off on this new adventure.

Early days as you rightly say, but taking each game on its own as we must, it is a better mood to be in today than if we had lost. Even a draw would have lost us our position.
