I think thats the point of this whole revolution though, we won't be making "marque" signings. We are operationg in a completely different way now, building around the youth we have, and not spunking daft money on Ross McCormacks.

And I don't think we're as flat broke as we would like to make out, we have already offloaded a lot of highly paid players, and we still have a year of parachute payments left.

So whilst everyone has a price, I really don't think we have to sell.

If someone offered £15m I'd say let him go, but to say he's worth as much as Yanic Wildschut (even though we actually only paid about £3m for him) is ludicrous.

Never know what to make of Jacob. He's undoubtedly got raw ability, isn't afraid to take on and beat his man or go for goal which I like, yet in so many areas his game is quite badly lacking. £7m is a joke but in all honesty while I wouldn't want us to sell I'd be tempted by about £12m. I do genuinely think Josh's all-round game is better. 

Ultimately we sold Redmond this time last year for £12m, and he was and is quite a bit better than Jacob is now.

"Marque" signing(s) was the wrong expression Morty, not what I meant at all.  What I meant, particularly in the case of our need (imo), of 1 or 2 CBs, was the need to spend a bit on players who know the English league and are of a better calibre than those from the nether regions of the Bundesliga.  That is not to say any signings from there will be useless, but they will need time to adapt, and to see if they are more than just squad players.  Atm those we know of are complete unknowns to the PL, Championship or any English League, and I don't want to see 10 players brought in for free, to take the place of our departures, a lot of whom played in the PL.  Early days I know, but my "Marque" signings are just a few million, not >5ish.

To sell an England U21 for this level of money would be a steal for someone. He needs game time and staying with us for another season would probably be in the best interests of both parties

We have an asset with potential, but with limited national awareness he is worth nothing.

Now, he is worth much more, because of some 'could-have-been-written-six-weeks-ago-on-the-back-of-a-beer-mat-whilst-on-holiday-in-Mallorca' quality reporting.

What we want now is for our SD to come out and state, for the record, that he is 'not for sale, at any price'. Give it a couple of weeks and we get to decide whether to sell for £15m upfront, or £10 upfront with £8m of add-ons.

I might be the only one who thinks this is a good thing. I think we desperately need two EXCELLENT CB's, a strong LB, a DCM that isn't crocked half the time, a box-to-box CM to replace Howson when he inevitably leaves, plus another Striker. That's going to cost, whether you're shopping from League 1 or not.

We could do with £15m.

Will do! He is playing centrally up front after playing on the right, and at right back in previous games. I don't think central is his best position, he's looking better when he drifts wide.

You have to remember it was his first season at Championship level and he got something like 13 goals and 6 assists in all comps. That's a really good return. He's since been called up to the England U21's and seems to be doing well there.

Saying that, i'm constantly arguing on that stupid Norwich City facebook page with a `fan` called Ian who claims Jacob is no where near good enough, league one is his level and if we get an offer of 1m should take it.

He's almost like a penalty box striker who actually plays out wide. In that you're not too sure about his all around game and how much he really does but you know he'll score goals.
