Norwich are closing in on Cuban-born German winger Onel Hernandez.
The Canaries, who sold Alex Pritchard to Huddersfield for £11.9million, have made a £1.7m offer to Eintracht Braunschweig.
Hernandez, 24, moved to Germany aged six and has played for Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg’s second teams before joining Braunschweig in Germany’s second division in 2016.
Wolves and Huddersfield have previously watched Hernandez who is keen to try English football.
Despite this likely arrival, Norwich still expect to keep hold of star man James Maddison. Marcus Edwards has also arrived on loan from Spurs.

Liked the sound of this one when it first came out, thought it was dead in the water after not hearing about it for a while but clearly not. £1.7m will be one of the larger fees we've forked out under Webber, though it does appear that this one was driven by Farke. Trybull and Zimmermann are obviously 2 other transfers that Farke put forward, so if he's as good as either of those then it'll be another snip!

As you say though it is The Sun, so yeah, pinch of salt.

Right footed and plays on the right. Can't claim to have actually seen him play but just from videos I've seen he's clearly very quick.

Sounds like we'll sign him on a pre-contract so that he joins properly in the summer. Don't know anything about him or whether he's good enough but the deal itself makes sense. We have enough centre midfielders at the moment, but come summer Tettey's contract will expire and Reed will go back to Southampton. Obviously we have Godfrey who seems to be the ready-made Tettey replacement, so it seems McLean will step into the hole left by Reed.

Signing from Scotland's always a bit of a gamble, and this guy isn't that young either at 26. Let's hope he can make the step up!

Apparently he hasnt had a great season so far according to some of their fans.

Anyway, I still don't get this 200k and loan back deal being rumoured. His contract is up in the summer so why couldn't we just sign him on a pre contract agreement now and pay nothing?

Even the Dons fans are questioning if our board are suffering from brain damage in the typically crass online posts hahah

Just feels like a standard Championship signing for a team on a standard Championship budget, but who knows... so was Hoolahan, and he was at Livingstone a year before and a similar age. Its always about the team that you build rather than the calibre of the individuals anyway.

Now lets purchase somebody that we can actually play, a right back or striker please!

Best I can fathom is that he can operate left side or central, he is left footed and quite technical. So I wouldn't really say he is replacing anyone, per say.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over Reed. As the season has gone I see him as a squad player but not someone I'd want starting every week. He's a grafter but lacks a bit of presence and is rather limited with what he can do looking up the pitch.

Agreed actually, hasn't looked out of place at this level and would have to be a late developer if he's got any chance of making it in the Premier League, doesn't really impose himself on games... just a consistent 6.5/10 man. May still become more influential in the future because he's still very inexperienced but looks a bit average to me.

Coaches may disagree though, if in training it is obvious that there is more to come from him. Really can't see him going back to Southampton and playing a part for them next season, can only really see him out on loan to the Championship again.
