JEROME OR MBOKANI or.......BOTH?

I do like what I have seen so far with Mbokani, BUT........I still prefer Jerome as our starting front man, as I feel his overall game and energy are better than Mbokani. Also, I see Mbokani as a better "impact player" at this level than Jerome, bring him on against tired legs. Then when thinking about accommodating them both, my heart says YES lets go for it...... but head says NOOOO!

What do you think?

For West Brom I think it has to be Mbokani, he started the last game and he scored, at this level what else can you ask from a striker? 

I won't choose "both" if we are talking the next fixture because I think that would mean Wes on the bench, and really think we need to be starting him at home to West Brom. Both on the pitch if chasing an equaliser perhaps.

Some people have got to pay the price of our drubbing with their place in the team, I think it would be harsh if one of those players is Mbokani.

Given that Neil seems to favour two wingers there is no way we could start both. Playing with an attacking midfielder who can drop deeper if necessary just behind the striker seems to be the way most teams look to go in the Prem and I would stick with Mbokani simply because he's more likely to finish a chance than Jerome and because, as Canaryboy implies, he's earned the right and it allows Wes to start.

I see no reason that the man scoring goals should be dropped. I agree that Jerome pulls the defense about, and that Mbokani appears to be closer to the goal, but isn't that what we want? Redders,Brady,Jarvis should be feeding the man, they should be pulling the defense about.I would hate to be a defender, run ragged by those guys looking at the sidelines after 60 minutes, and seeing Jerome pawing at the ground eager to get in amongst the tired legs

At times, I do think only one up front limits what our wingers can do. Everyone admits we do have pace out wide and yet many times they have have to stop moving forward because there is simply not enough to aim at in front of them. Ideally I would love to see Jerome and Hooper as I believe they could form a partnership.

I think Wes has to start against Albion as I don't think they are a particularly dangerous counter attacking team (probably egg on face statement) and not the quickest in the middle. I don't think they look to score too many goals, two in four away. I think they can be got at with pressure but they will probably be happy with us just pumping crosses in for two to fight for. Having said that, Mbokani looks a threat aerially.

 My heart says two up front, two wingers, Wes behind and Tettey mopping up the little threat they will mount because we are pushing them back so much.

But it all depends on the managers response to Sunday's debacle. And I think he will bring in Wes for Dorrans and that will be the only change. He will look for a big game from his front four. It will be no good expecting the back four to improve without help. They talked after the game about being too open. So I think he will ask for Howson to restrain his urge to go forward to start with and keep the ball for as long as possible. We had the lion's share of possession against Newcastle of course but I don't see Albion psoing the same threat if they don't have enough ball.

I would like to see both, even if one was from the bench, just to see if it would work.

It has to be either one or the other for me;  our midfield (and defence) is simply too soft to play with two up front

for me you get in an increased direct goal threat threat with mmMbok is balanced against the increased defensive contribution and more intelligent movement from CamJam that links up and brings the midfield into play better.

I keep changing my mind on this but right now  feel Mmmbok, (ba duba dok, yeah), deserves to continue starting on the basis that he is new to the league and I think he will improve.     My only worry is that teams will quickly suss out just how one footed he is.

If we are to insist on playing with two strikers (at the expense of either wes or redmond) then hooper is the best second striker we have.
