Josh Murphy v Nathan Redmond

A tough one to call. IMO, Redmond has been better this season. The opening goal against Nice was outstanding. Yes he has been a bit inconsistent, but that is not unusual in wide players, and I thought he had a good game against Ipswich. Certainly I'd like him to stay.

Err as in if it's true one club (stoke) has already met our valuation and still been rebuffed and also true Southampton have had at least one bid rejected as reported. I may be mistaken but I don't believe NCFC have acknowledged anything with Redmond, so he may be in demand, or it may be paper talk and one chairmans damage limitation exercise.

If this Southampton offer now is true, the timing strikes desperation. I'd tell them to do one until £12m or more is offered.

Not intended as a post to *bleep* off Redmond, but considering this comparison and argument was started, thought it was worth revisiting in the wake of Josh's goal today. Has Josh now got more Norwich City goals than Redmond in a fraction of the games?

We all agree Redmond has potential, and for the record I think Redmond has been good in recent games and has had more of an end-product, but in terms of goals, Josh seems to be more potent. Not saying this makes him a better player, personally I wouldnt compare the two as they have different games, but its hard to refute Josh's potency when you compare goals and minutes

Redmond was superb again today, and although Josh's finish was excellent, I'd still take Redmond over Murphy every day.

Redmond really was superb today though. It's not all about goals. That said, Murphy very good after a shaky ten minutes and I'm glad we can call on either.

Murphy done ok today. Took his goal very well! 

I would start with Murphy on Tuesday and bring in Howson for Tettey  so we can play a proper 4-4-2 and give Hoolahan and Tettey a rest.

At home teams seem to be packing out their midfields which is making it very difficult for us to play our way through the middle. Therefore, playing with two out and out wingers will allow for more space in the middle for our CMs to exploit. Also gives some key players a little rest

Runs the risk of us being overrun in the centre of midfield.

Redmond's been superb recently. It's great to seem him played on the right, no LB at this level will relish going up against him.

Unless I've missed something, I fail to see how taking one of our midfielders out of the centre will result in Tettey and Johnson having more space to exploit? More likely it will mean they have an extra man in the middle and we will see considerably less of the ball.

The thread title should read Murphy & Redmond - both very talented and have a great future with US    

It was a great goal for Josh but again we saw enough to know that he is not yet ready to start and remains best used as an impact sub once the starting 11 have taken the pace out of the back 4.

As far as central I would stick with Tettey and BJ for now - while I am no BJ fan he has done nothing to warrant being dropped and Tettey consistently outperforms him.    Unless there is an injury Howson will simply have to wait - he will get his chance and I hope he takes it,  the possibility of a Howson Tettey base bossing this league is worth waiting for...

Tettey shouldn't be rested. He can have a couple of weeks off after Saturday, perhaps he can bruise a thigh or something then so he doesn't have to go play for Norway.
