Is Klose right or left footed? I'm assuming as it hasn't been mentioned that he's right footed. Have to admit I don't know an awful lot about him.

For me though, whether he's left footed or right, if he's going to come straight in (which I'm assuming he will do) then Bassong is the one who should be dropped. On his day he's our best defender but he hasn't been at his best recently, whereas Bennett has come in and has looked solid in practically every game.

Bennett hasn't been better than Bassong. He's just more of a centreback than Martin. He's been getting praised for doing things that Bassong was already doing.

Can't say I've ever heard of him, and doesn't look like he's a regular for Wolfsburg. He's half German and half Swiss. I hope he's more Robert Huth and less Phillipe Senderos (who although a good player in his day, can't get in the Villa side!).

Everything I have heard is very, very good. This signing could turn out to be a bit of a coup.

I agree with your view of Bennett, but have to say he doesn't take unnecessary risks either. Closer to stereotypic no nonsense CB than Bassong is and also better in those aerial duels Bassong seems to struggle sometimes.

Bassong clearly is a bit faster at least on short distances, has ability to pass the ball and has enough experience in most of situation to tackle and position better, but if Klose can offer the same and better aerial ability I would use him and Bennett just to be a bit more solid at back and keep defence out of pressure.

He's a CB, I'd rather he's a bit on the tough side.

Know nothing about him (I know nothing about the German league) but I'm relieved to have a new CB which we desperately need, so really glad to hear this - just hoping the scouting network & the club have done their job.

Don't know an awful lot about him but from what I've read he seems a good signing, and a perfect fit. I imagine he will come straight in, you would hope so for £7.5m anyway. Be interesting to see whether he replaces Bennett or Bassong as well.

not sure the fee has anything really to do with his readiness to step in immediately GJP?  If he hasn't been starting many games for Wolfsburg then I don't think AN will risk him till he's happy he's 100%

we paid 7.5 million for the next 4 years...not just this Saturday.  Pressing a 7.5 million player into the team when not ready or fully match fit and he suffers a long- term Injury wouldn't be the cleverest thing we've ever done!

thats said I agree that I hope he is fit to play immediately, but I wouldn't bet on it.

For a club like Norwich to spend that much money (particularly in the January window) you want someone who can hit the ground running. Especially when it's an area that needs improving as a priority.

The other lads were all match fit for Bournemouth and where did that get us?
