Really good piece that. As most of you know, I travel a long way to get to Norwich every weekend and go via London. I always see football fans going in all directions on tubes/trains. Not once have I ever felt threatened or ill at ease at all. In fact, mostly the opposite. I normally end up having a good chat with a fan of some sort about the goings on at their club, and have indeed made some good friends because of it.
Picking up on WH's point about the press only picking up on the negative and not the good. Unfortunately that is just what the news is. Rarely do I sit down to watch the news as it will just be 25 minutes of death, gloom and ill deeds, followed by 1 feel good story at the end. I guess that's what gets ratings and sells newspapers.

I wonder if what all this Chelsea train stuff (if what we've heard can be taken at face value) merely goes to prove how important it is that footballers are properly punished for their actions.
Despite John Terry's defence that he was only seen mouthing those words because he was repeating the accusation quizzically, we saw a Chelsea role-model arguably not punished enough, and perhaps more importantly not remoreseful.
Since Mourinho, Chelsea have always had a siege mentality, so is it at all surprising that young impressionable Chelsea fans would side with their captain and hero in all of this?
Singing or posting on social media 'our captain is a racist and thats why we love him' - is this no more than misguided loyalty from fans which has grown into something different?
