Paul, without wishing to get too personal, you seem to be at totally one end of the spectrum or the other. Someone's either amazing or diabolical. Where's the middle ground?

Fer's best, IMO, was when he played with Tettey and Howson in a flexible midfield, sometimes going forward and sometimes staying back. It confused opposition defences and his ball control and passing were vital. All 3 are good passers and, when on form, difficult to play against. I'm hoping Odjidja can play in that sort of midfield as well.

I'd agree with that. I think part of the problem was though, that he played every minute of every game from the beginning of August to the start of January. He looked absolutely shattered in the second half of the season, and his performances went downhill because of that a little bit.

Some good replies but I stand by what I said McNally did an amazing job making such a profit on the player! Wouldn't swap him for any of our current midfielders who are working hard and are dedicated to the club!

I don't think anyone is questioning his undoubted technical ability, more his apparent lack of a top gear. I felt that he struggled to come to terms with the pace of the Premier league last season, and Sunday's performance suggested that he's still not there. I do agree that he would be more effective higher up the pitch, and quite where the fooball genius that is Redknapp got the idea that he's a box to box player is beyond me.

That's exactly right. He has the ability for sure but he struggles for get out of second gear. I personally don't think he is cut out for the pace of the Premier League.

Its clear that Fer,  like so many players new to the league,  struggled for consistency and with the pace of the game in his first season.

Yet in spite of that,  we only won one game without him, he had the highest win ratio per start of any player and as for being lazy he made and won more tackles than any other player.  Put simply he is not perfect but we were a better team with him than without.  

He would have been dominant in this league and will improve again in a desperately poor QPR team who have paid us a fair price in a deal that suited all parties.     Let go and move on.
