Would either manager's job be safe after a defeat?

I would like to think AN would be safe.

AN would be fine. Not that it matters, because we won't be losing. They're terrified of us.

Realistically the playoffs are a lottery so it would be crazy to get rid of a manager who loses. For Ipswich the playoffs are the best they could hope for at the start of the season so Mccarty has done well with the resources he has and ditto the ground AN has made up since he took over is as good as you could ask for.

Ipswich would be stupid to sack Mick McCarthy, he's worked miracles just to get them in the top 6 with his budget. 

We'd be stupid to sack Alex Neil considering his points to games ratio since he arrived.

So "no" is my guess.

Neither manager will be in any danger, they've both done fantastic this season.  And as stated above, the play offs are a little bit of a lottery. 

I feel like Ipswich would want to get us in the semis, to get some revenge on us.  But we have Alex Neil, so everything will be alright

Both of them safe whatever happens, whilst our Manager has done a cracking job he has had a great squad to work with....McCarthy, even though I now dislike him intensely, has performed close to a miracle at Poorman Road and should be given an eight year contract or similar in recognition...even after we tonk them in the play-off's.

Neil is here for the long haul and, as others have said, McCarthy has performed a minor miracle. I think its fair to say that the playoff final is a lottery, but a two legged semi final is less so, and given that we haven't lost away in 2015 I'd fancy us against anybody, but of course we could lose.

Unfortunately if we do the modern mantra of "there's must be someone to blame if things don't go exactly as I want" will mean that the heads of the owners, McNally and yes, even Alex will be called for from some quarters. I'm desperate to see us go up this year, but with Neil in charge I would actually quite enjoy another Championship season if that's how it pans out.

I am looking forward to the play offs and confident.  Teams have taken the approach with us of sitting and playing for a point a lot of the time, you have to go for the win in these situations so, whilst teams will still look to counter, we should see less contained approaches.  Given our record against the top clubs, plus our phenomenal away record (where again, teams are sitting back as much), it gives me a lot of confidence.

I know people keep mentioning Ipswich, but I personally would love to smash Middlesborough in the final, they would come up against a city side that hasnt played 3 games in a week and play acting isnt going to swing this time.

Failing that, if we did stay down, I think you will see a lot of the youth start to come to the fore, particularly the murphys.  However, I could see Howson leaving and he's the only one I'm really bothered about.

If we don't go up this season, then I would hope we would keep the team intact. A.N. has shown us how good he is (with some slip ups ), but all in all, we should walk this league next season, with him in charge.
Saying that the seasons still not over, and now the play-offs. 3 cup finals to go. My only hope now is , the players put there hearts into winning the play-offs and don't freeze on the day. (mind you I cant see A.N. letting them do that).
Just hope no one wants to jump ship if we don't go up this season.
But all in all, I really do think we will win play-offs. We do have the best team out of the rest. we shouldn't fear anyone.
