I have to say I'm slightly irked (as I usually am about something or other) as to how some fans seem to be using this as a reason to have a pop at other fans. I have seen stuff on Twitter where peopele are apparently heartless just thinking about the money.
Lets all be honest here, Maddison is important to our immediate future, whether it be playing next season, or flogging on so that we can make upgrades in other positions. An injured Maddison for the next 9 months, if it had been his ACL, would have been an absolute disaster, no matter how you look at it.

Thank f*ck for that. This news probably stops us from going down to League One, and possibly even from going into administration in my opinion.
Still probably taken £5m off the fee though.
Selling Maddison gives us the ability to shed high earners and attempt to rebuild in the final third (and replace Klose, he's off).
I can't see how we could have remained competitive next season without a big fee for Maddison. We'd have faced the prospect of having nothing to spend and being stuck paying Naismith, Jarvis and McGovern next season.... and therefore probably also having to use them.
And we'd possibly have had to sell 'whoever' we could get a few million for, e.g. Hanley and Pinto.
Selling Maddison I hope enables us to shed a bit of deadwood, hang on to a few of our more useful high earners AND allow us to bring in a couple of players.
If Maddison required surgery then that would be good cause to bang £200 on our relegation next season, glad I don't have to do that now.

I can only assume that from now on Webber will broadcast all injury updates on players and include the player's performance stats and review of their season.

Although if you think I'm negative.... wait until all the financial illiterates come out of the woodwork when we do sell Maddison and call one again for Delia to finally sell to somebody in that big queue of Chinese and Middle Eastern billionaires who are desperate to build us a mega stadium and sign Neymar.

Leicester fan here. Just wanted to get your views on Maddison? Not seen much of him myself but from the clips I’ve seen the lad looks a real talent! My mate who watches a lot of Championship football has been raving about him all season so I’m interested to get your thoughts on him after watching him every week.
We’ve been desperate for a natural number 10 to play in behind Vardy for the past 2 seasons. Is that his preferred position?
What are your expectations for next season? After receiving such a big fee do u think your board will invest it all on improving your squad and have a push for promotion?

Who knows RE: transfers and expectations at Norwich. Fans don't really know where we stand financially, our parachute payments have run out, none of us know whether there is still a black hole into which the money will disappear or whether we can now buy some real quality. Who knows.

The lad is absolute class, he has the lot, scores with either foot, scores absolute worldies, great dead ball, but most important of all fantastic attitude. Will watch him with interest next season, as he made his first championship season look very, very easy. Not being biased, but you have got yourself a very good footballer there, and as the season wears on you will see that you have got a bargain.

I agree with all that Morty said. You have a quality player with a brilliant attitude. Look after him and he'll do great things for you imo. As you've gathered we are more than sorry to see him go.

I agree with what's been said and would add that if he continues to progress at the same rate, be aware that he will outgrow Leicester and move up to a 'bigger' team after a year or two.
