I thought it a bit strange that we had two people with the job title 'First Team Coach', but nobody with the job title 'Assistant Manager'.

Could it be that the club wants to bring in an experienced man as an assistant manager to help Adams out?

Don't see the point of this really. I don't see how he is wholly responsible for our problems (unless something else has happened). Cries of scapegoat abound. If we don't get a decent result next match Adams will probably have to go, especially with the AGM looming. Then a new managerial team will be brought in from scratch. I'm puzzled.

I guess if you think about it, the first team coach has just as much responsibility for what happens on the training pitch, as the manager, or perhaps even more so.

Was Mark Robson a scape goat, - protecting Neil Adams, or had he really been found out as not up to the job? Either is possible, and there is another possibility,  personality clashes  within the management group.

We may never know, but the club has a problem to find a replacement quickly. In the meantime if we play with more purpose and conviction immediately, it may indicate that there has been some kind of problem. How long has he been with the club, and did anyone know of personal attitudes when he was appointed and when he was promoted?

if its for footballing reasons its because he wasnt doing his job or giving the wrong advice - something the manager should be overriding.    It could be for fundamental footballing differences,  which could be good or bad news depending on who was making the prevailing view.

Or it could be completely non football related;  terminated could be by either parties choice - was he sacked (incompetence, disciplinary misdemeanours etc), or has he resigned - had a better offer elsewhere or simply decided the job was not for him.    

Plenty of room for some nonsensical speculation - it will come out over the coming days but its clear that Adams is here to stay for a while yet. 

As for culverhouse it is a possible for me;   the manner of his sacking from villa is still shrouded in mystery and may have circumstances that mean we wont wnat him again,  even given our long successful past associations with him.

I dunno morty, it just doesn't make any sense to me, either sack them all or don't sack anyone, Adams appointed him so surely blame is due all round. I know we don't have the full picture of course, which makes it all the more frustrating, will be interested to see where things go from here.

It really depends what angle you look at it from. I buy into having stability at the club, and we all openly mock other clubs who change managers like their underpants.

Now, we all are of the opinion that we have a good squad, and that perhaps it isn't being utilised in the right way, so changing whatever we are doing in training, either mentally or physically, really isn't that crazy.

McNally has made a lot of the fact that we have restructured the management team, and I think was critical of Hughton for micromanaging every aspect, and spreading himself too thin. So perhaps Adams was given the brief of leaving the coaching to the coaches, and concentrating in the overall managerial role. If thats the case it could be seen, quite easily, that our current form is more to do with Robson, than Adams.

No further statement normally means quite the opposite and an announcement on his replacement is imminent.

We are assuming that he was asked to leave by the club. That is likely, but there is the possibility that he has asked to be released from his contract to find alternative employment.

People are often quick to jump if they sense that they are about to be pushed. Not sure how contracts work for coaching staff, are they just like normal employment contracts? One weeks notice during probation period?
