Martin & Whittaker Included in Scotland Squad

Scotland released their squad for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Germany on the 7th of September.

The game is in-between Bournemouth at home and Cardiff away. Always nice to get international recognition, but I'll just be hoping they avoid any injuries.

I don't think we can really afford to lose either with a big game away at Cardiff on the 13th.

Think they might be busy against the Germans!

Already worrying about this match - as a Scot i can see lots of slow and promising progress being blown to bits by a very heavy defeat.

At least it gets the toughest game out of the way nice and early. RM has been excellent at centre back, have to say worry what might happen if Whitts plays!

Where does Whittaker usually play for Scotland killiecanary, because you normally have Hutton at right back don't you?

Whittaker has played both sides, but usually RB when Hutton was unavailable.

He generally looks ok there, but scotland often have a tendency to sit deep so he doesnt get exposed out of position as often. The young lad from Dundee Utd that Hull have just signed (Robertson) will be the future but i suspect we will need Whitts experience against Germany

Russ and Hanley of Blackburn have looked a decent pairing at centre back

But when your squad is so thin you have Berra from Ipswich in it....

Snodgrass injured will be a big loss for Scotland. Let's hope Germany are still celebrating their WC win.  ;)

Yeah, Snoddy is a very important player for us.

We do have so,e good kids coming through (like Gauld - who is as good as the publicity suggests but has a long way to go to become consistent at this level) so hopefully we can cope.

I really hope our guys don't feature. I know its a very selfish thing to say as I'm sure they'd both love to be playing that game, but as said above, with Cardiff just a week after and our squad feeling so short in defence I'd rather them be back at base feeling fit and healthy!
