As of 11th August they had sold just 10,000 tickets for this game. I wouldn't pay £30 to watch a rubbish England squad against Norway with 11 subs at half-time either!

Don't know how many they have sold in the past few weeks but they are saying it may be the lowest ever attendance at the new Wembley for an England fixture. Previous lowest was 57,000 against Andorra, in a stadium with a 90,000 capacity.

I think it was Joey Barton who once said that there would be more interest in England if they were a traveling team, and have to agree with him there... for these pointless home friendlies they should be taking the national team to various stadia around the country, if the grounds going to be half empty then why not have these games at Hillsborough, Villa Park, Stadium of Light, Elland Road etc?

Generate a bit of cash for a club side by giving a slice of the receipts, and give local kids the chance to see the national team. It would keep Wembley trips special by hosting competitive fixtures only!

Totally agree in the travelling for non competitive games. The U21 games that have been at Carrow Rd and Portman Rd have always had good crowds.

Hopefully Tettey will still be a NCFC player on Wednesday. If so I'll be cheering on Norway.

That gives me a very convenient excuse to support Norway then, I've bet against England - something I'd never do in a Norwich game.

World cup over. That superb goalkeeper Foster has picked up a knock and withdrawn. What a surprise that must be to us all

  you have got to love a great England game, It really is now getting harder and harder to remember the last real good peformance from England, surely it wasn't the 5-1 thrashing of Germany?

We were better when our 'best' player came off.

Going to be a fun 5 - 7 years with Rooney being picked because he's Rooney.

We'd finally started to look quite good under Capello before he quit in February 2012 over the John Terry dispute, we've looked like we've needed Terry in the side ever since.

It has been confirmed that this was the lowest attendance at the new Wembley for an England international, just 40,181, less than half full.

Now wouldn't it have been better to have had the game at Anfield, Villa Park, Elland Road.... or any ground outside of London with a capacity of somewhere between 35000 and 50000?

To be honest I've lost a lot of interest in England games since Hodgson took over. The majority of our games are boring and lack any sort of free-flowing football despite some of the quality players that we have in our squad.
