New shirt leak / hoax?

I definitely see both sides. I've seen people upset as ex gambling addicts getting mocked on Twitter, which I think is a bit cruel when it's something they understandably feel really strongly about. In an ideal world, football and gambling wouldn't go as hand in hand as they do, but as it stands, we're a business and we have to do the best deal for the club. I can't imagine the sponsors are exactly lining up for us.

Can't believe people kicking off about this. Its a shirt sponsor for gods sake. Just because Norwich or any other football team wear a shirt with a gambling firm on it doesn't mean that people should turn into gambling addicts.  In an ideal world Norwich would have a nice local company to sponsor them, see Aviva, Colmans etc. If young people are so influenced by what they see on a football shirt these days that they turn into addicts, something is definitely wrong with the education of our kids. I doubt 20/30/40 years ago if Norwich wore a shirt with a gambling company on it that some kids, adults would turn into gambling addicts. There's not much anyone can do now anyway, they're here for 3 years, they're going to be on our shirts.

Morty, I kind of agree with you in the sense that it might not directly encourage someone to start gambling, however the idea of young kids running around in the park, playing football with their mates, advertising gambling websites after school has finished is just a tad odd in my opinion. Same reason we don't see tobacco sponsors on football shirts, surely?

It's not  a Norwich-centric gripe.......I don't like it on any team's shirt. It's just a shame we've 'succumbed'. I was always rather proud of our 'local' sponsors in Norwich Union/Aviva, Coleman's, or N&P Building Soc. Somehow added something to the community strength of the club......to me, at least.

Maybe I'm just a bit odd.

Sort of agree to be honest, can't walk down the street without seeing a shop sign for 'Coral' or 'Ladbrokes', not like this is going to make any difference... up to parents to teach their kids that gambling is a mugs game really. 

Hope we get a cut of the profits from Norfolk based customers though

Crazy, isn't it? But it unfortunately reflects where we are, we have had to get a whole lot more streetwise, in all departments, to ensure we continue to make ends meet.

Doesn't really bother me, any extra money is good. The reality of our situation is that we need whatever we can get if we're going to even attempt to remain competitive. I have literally no idea why people are moaning.

Inevitable that this will be normal for football soon, so we are just ahead of the curve. Newcastle are apparently getting a 'sleeve sponsor'. 

Got your message about that guest reports... pretty sure there will be a setting somewhere, will check it out!

Don't know if anyone watched the video the club put on Youtube of the behind the scenes stuff for the kit promos, but it shows the players wearing the kit without the sponsor, and I actually quite like it. However, at the moment the sponsor is ruining it for me. I think it'll grow on me though to be fair, just wish the sponsor wasn't so ugly

Has anybody wondered whether this 'leak' was intentional to get some media attention for the club and the sponsors? Got people talking about Leo Vegas didn't it. 

Pretty common PR tactic for celebrities etc, and the club didn't embarrass itself by trying to make an example of a 16 year old kid but exposing its lax security measures in the process.

I liked it on first viewing but the more I look at it the less I like it, think it's one I'd need to see in person to make a better decision on it, one positive is that the sponsors logo looks much better on that than the home shirt
