Will be interesting to see how it pans out, and how quickly things move. They can't buy anyone till January so they will have to make do till then, at least. There are theories that the takeover was blocked not on the piracy issues, but on the fact the big six don't want another big dog in town.

I have seen the question of morality brought up, that the Saudi's human rights record makes them unsuitable, do people just turn that on when it suits them?
Personally if this guy rocked up here, with a huge bag of money, I could quite easily overlook the beheadings in his home country.

Newcastle will have a new (top) manager and money to spend in January. Unlikely to get relegated now.

Maybe the answer was that we shouldn't have made football some kind of home for identity based politics in the first place? The fact that anyone wants to hold football up as some kind of moral beacon is all a bit silly anyway.

This Newcastle thing really has changed dynamics for the league as a whole, at both ends of the table.
At the top now you have another contender, and you would have to assume a strong one, for Champion's league football, which means one of the traditional contenders is now bumped down the queue. This could affect things in a few ways really, does that make the other "big" clubs spend more, or does it make them less enthusiastic, realising this is a money race they simply can't win?
Does it make new investment into the league pointless?
Does it mean now, in a league full of billionaires and multi millionaires that Championship clubs stand even less chance, and the same half dozen clubs will just change places every season?
Does this make a breakaway super league more likely again? A league that based on recent success and trophies won would NOT include Newcastle Utd? The "big six" won't like an impertinent new kid on the block spoiling their party.
