I'm also managing a trip to both these games so fingers crossed City sustain our run.

Two away wins is always a big ask but both teams are safely mid-table which is what you want at this stage of the season.  If we perform as we're capable of we can get the 6 points but a win and a draw is probably more likely.

With the top 4 just 2 points apart, a neutral would say it's any 2 from those 4 with Bournemouth having the edge.  But I hope our squad strength will see us through.

Setting a points target is now meaningless - the top 4 teams are all capable of winning their last 5 games so any slip ups could be costly.  If we win these 2, it will really put pressure on those around us.

Remember last time we went up ?  It came down to who could stand up to the pressure.

I would pit Norwich City's mental strength against any of our competitors for promotion.

Most certainly over Boro's.

Confidence is priceless, and we have that in abundance.  I think 4 points from these two is definitely enough to keep us in position to push on for the final few games and secure automatics. 

I am slightly concerned about Watford though. They seem to be coming together just at the right time, and i can't see them dropping many points at all. It's going to be close... :unsure:

I agree that Watford are the greatest threat after Bournemouth, Suffolk. They have a reasonable run-in from here with no top 8 teams. It's definitely going to be close!

I agree that Watford is our main challenger for second place.

They have a very strong attack but are ordinary in defence.  Only Gomes' form saves their goals against tally.   Ipswich showed how to beat them and I was surprised that Boro with the best defence in the league did not make a better fist of playing them.   Boro seem to lack resilience especially when they go behind.

I back City's all round quality and mental strength over them both.

Bournemouth have only to make a cockup in one match, away to Charlton most likely, for ourselves and Watford to claim the autos. People on here, and other forums, seem to assume that they are untouchable. They have never been in any comparable situation before, and nerves are likely to be tighter than a drum skin. I think if Watford and ourselves are just a point behind on 2nd May they could well implode. Charlton themselves an on a very good run of form so it is no foregone conclusion that Bournemouth will win anyway.

All four clubs are now one Gerrard moment away from failure.   It will be an individual mistake or moment or inspiration that will decide these issues as all four are capable of wining their last three games (although obviously, not all four can).

It is griping and scary and thrilling.   It reminds me of 1975.

But, we also need to remember 2011.   Swansea were celebrating promotion after they beat us and they went on to implode and came up via the playoffs.   Cardiff could have gone up but fell apart a few hours before we played Portsmouth and lost at home to Middlesborough.  It is wholly unpredictable but I believe our players are good enough and Neil's will is strong enough to see us through.
