The news about the Belgian is not bad, bur worrying enough for Adams to say that they will not risk him until after Christmas, and give him another week or two to recover from his injury.

We miss his power and pace, but in reality we have seen so little of him that nothing seems to have changed. Let's hope that he comes back soon fully fit for the second half of the season.

In the meantime, as we have shown, we have enough central midfielders to cover for him.

How exactly have we missed his power and pace when we have never seen it ?

We have seen glimpses, Tilly, as certainly he was brought in to offer an alternative to Hoolahan and Howson. I don't think he'd have played on Saturday anyway, so another week won't make a big difference.

Odd one this. He was on the bench and I think came on for Bruges in a couple of Europa Cup games in August. Then joined us and disappeared, apparently injured, immediately.

Was then fit enough to play I think a full game at Shrewsbury plus a couple of U21s, but did not make the team save for a cameo at Brentford, only to then be injured within 5 minutes of his first start some time later.

Perhaps it's best to rest this one as "the jury is still out"!

I think the club's being very sensible personally. We can manage without and it's better to introduce him when the risk of it recurring has gone. Look forward to seeing what he can do when he's ready though.

Adams said the other day he's likely to be out for another 10 days or so. We have Preston in the cup on January 3rd, and I imagine our best chance of seeing him will probably be then.

I think that's about right din, barring any further set-backs.
