Agree, each of our three main strikers have their own strengths so makes sense to pick them based on how we intend to try and play any particular game.

Cameron Jerome is the best 'defensive forward', putting pressure on the back four when playing a high pressing game.

Lewis Grabban is arguably the best at carrying the ball up the field, that extra yard of pace in possession, for when we want to play on the break.

Mbokani is the least mobile of the three but is clearly the biggest aerial threat.

So each has something to offer. Each has their weaknesses too, Grabban seems to give the ball away too cheaply with a stray pass a couple of times a game and isn't very good at one on one situations, Jerome's first touch often lets him down, and Mbokani isn't the most mobile. Obviously they'll all have flaws though, if they didn't they wouldn't be Norwich players.

Will be interested to see whether we bring in a striker in January, if it were Grabban being replaced then a possible replacement for him could be Patrick Bamford? Not really working out too well for him at Palace and there is talk of him returning to Chelsea in January.

Grabban certainly seems to be making noises like he wants to stay in his latest pinkun interview, which, lets face it he wouldn't really have to do unless he really meant it.

I would be happy to see him stay, he offers something different to Jerome and Mbokani, and if I'm honest, I doubt we'd get much for our money if we sold him in January.

And it raises the question again of should you really be selling players to direct rivals.

And another question is whether the replacement would be any better. I can see why Grabban's name still leaves a bad taste in people's mouths, and why some will be cynical about him now professing his loyalty with Bournemouth having four key players out for the season and looking like they've got less chance of staying up than us.

Swapping Grabban for Gayle at a similar price seemed like a no brainer when Grabban didn't want to be here, but if he's going to get his head down then would Gayle be anything other than a sideways step now?

I suppose Walters would be an attractive proposition in January, especially as he'll want to impress in the run up to the Euro's and plays with Wes and Brady for Ireland, but still not convinced that he actually wants to leave Stoke, think he's just playing games to get his extra year.

I don't honestly think any of the names mentioned are going to improve on what he have here already. Their scoring records at this level aren't any better. Walters does have years of Prem and International experience and would probably be the best of the bunch, short term.

We aren't the worst scorers in the division but do need to score if we are going to win. And despite Sunday's draw, it is wins that give you that breathing space as well as pleasing the fans.

I think we have to accept that with the current system employed, goals will not come in abundance. The emphasis is obviously on not conceding and therefore always keeping you in with a chance. We will not loosen the financial restraints to go and get a top man who will walk straight into the team.

Although I haven't a clue who, I still believe the priority will have to be someone to give the new back four a bit of back up. I'm not sure of the bookings tally but would hate to think that if Bassong or Bennett were injured or suspended, that we would have to stick Martin back in. It didn't and will not work to our advantage.

Its just 5 goals in the last 6 and 6 weeks since we scored more than once in a game so its clear that the increase security at the back had compromised the attacking intent.  Fewer chances being created and its not that any of the strikers has been particularly profligate.

AN has had to compromise his preferred attacking 4141 formation to create a defensive shield to protect what remains an inconsistent and mistake prone back 4.   as such for me the priority remains strengthening the back 4 to enable us to remain secure at the back while reinstating the attacking threat from an already creative midfield and strikers (the goals scored before the newcastle game highlight this)
