Why did Brady go off?

Hope not a serious injury?

I don't buy that Howson and Tettey are the problem. They were both poor against Birmingham but so was the entire team. They are usually two of our most reliable and consistent players and as others have said give everything for the cause. They're two of the best centre midfielders in the league and deserve their place in the team to be honest. Naismith is a completely different situation, because he's never played well for us and to be honest he doesn't even look like he cares.

So frustrating that we've got so many first team players injured so early on in the season. Pinto is a big loss because both Whittaker and Martin are useless. Hopefully Jerome is fit enough and Oliveira at least for the bench. If neither of them are though then Lafferty has to start up front ahead of Naismith.
Tettey is clumsy and has to make rash challenges because he is out of position so much. No secret that we score three with Howson playing further forward.

Match report from today's game vs Cardiff. Analysis, man of the match and player ratings. Why Norwich fans should feel optimistic despite it being far more nervy than the team should ever have allowed it to be. Onwards and upwards. OTBC!

Easily the better team but we made it so much less comfortable for ourselves than it should've been. Had we been up against a better side than Cardiff (who in all honesty weren't particularly good) then we wouldn't have got 3 points. The first half in all honesty was a bit boring, 2nd half was much better and we played better as well, but conceded 2 poor goals and didn't make the most of the chances we had either. At the end of the day though we won the game which is all that really matters. If we win every game 3-2 whilst not playing our best I'll be pretty happy.

I did think Russell Martin was good to be fair but I wouldn't have given him man of the match. Thought there were a few better, including Ryan Bennett who should've started the game. Jerome was my man of the match, took his goal well after initially fluffing his lines, and ran himself into the ground all game. Pinto was also excellent.

McGovern made a couple of decent saves and generally looked solid. Klose was very good, as was Howson. Tettey was also good though should've done better for one of Pilkington's goals. Hoolahan did some good things but wasn't really too involved. Have to say as well though Jacob Murphy did well and set up the first 2 goals I didn't think he was brilliant. He's only a year younger than Redmond yet I think to be honest he's a long way behind him. He's undoubtedly got ability but his touch isn't actually that good and his decision making is questionable at times. Obviously he's still young but he is still very raw. I was disappointed to be honest when Josh got on the bench ahead of Canos, who looks a good little player. No doubting it was the right decision though from Neil. Fantastic finish. Also saw glimpses of what Pritchard can do as well.

A win's a win so no complaints. We do need to up our game though but hopefully once we get some injured players back and our squad gels a bit more we'll see what this side is really capable of. Also I'm delighted that Neil had the balls to drop Naismith. Didn't think he would but it was definitely the right thing, make Naismith fight to get his place back and if he's not up for it then that says it all.

I can't have too many complaints when we win, but as others have mentioned the game wasnt great despite having 5 goals in it, after our opener no one looked like scoring, and then the last 15 minutes everyone on the pitch looked like scoring

I think Russ did pretty well considering he's a right back who's spent the last couple of years at center back, and ended up playing 75 minutes at left back, it'll be interesting to see who plays there on tuesday night, Brady off injured, Olsson out injured, do keep russ there, bring back whitts, or give toffolo a chance

for me Ivo Pinto was man of the match, thought he looked superb, and man does he ever have a turn of pace on him, the amount of times he played the ball up the field and looked to of over hit it only to then put on the afterburners and bomb forward, also as mentioned both murphys looked great as did pritchard for his 20 minutes or so that he got, looking forward to tuesday, another good result and things will be looking much rosier for us
