No fancy graphic, am away at sea!

Well, here we go again, after being unbeaten in pre season the squad should be in good spirits for a stern test away at our bogey team, who I would tip to be there or thereabouts again this season. I have been very impressed in what I have seen from the few pre season games I have seen, though its worth bearing in mind that Gunn was unbeaten in pre season when he was in charge too!

For me I think we're still short of a player or two, no idea on injuries, we'll have to wait for the presser on that one.

Team? Not a clue, but likely pretty similar to the Brighton friendly.

My prediction? 1-1.

Excited but nervous that it's going to go horribly wrong on Saturday, they are our bogey team after all.

No idea, I've been pretty negative in this pre-season and have taken a break from here so it doesn't really begin to grate on the more positive posters.

So I'm hoping that we have a decent start to the season so I can perk up a bit.

On one hand I have no idea at the moment whether we've gone a little bit too far when it comes to stripping out the experience from our squad and I'm concerned that we've effectively replaced Dorrans, Howson and Mulumbu with just one experienced midfielder, but then I remember how awful our away form was last season and find it difficult to believe that we'd be so easy to beat under Farke.

If we have a poor start to the season I wonder whether Webber would find a couple of million of that Jacob Murphy money before the end of the window? Squad still feels unbalanced to me, Russell Martin at right back doesn't excite me, we're one injury in centre midfield from being short of players there, and we're one injury to a striker away from Tristan Abrahams being required on first team duties.

Still feels like we're 3 players short.

I reckon that lineup is pretty close to what it'll be, though based on the Brighton game it would be Watkins up top as part of a two, with Maddison in behind, can't remember for sure but I think Zimmers played on the left of the back three with Franke in the middle, wouldn't be surprised to see CJ start in place of Nelson as i'm not sure Farke has made his mind up on his favourite of the two yet

A new season starts, whilst I am not wildly optimistic, I am quite optimistic.   We have got rid of a load of couldn't care less players, we have a load of people in that want to succeed..People are whining that our players are untested, maybe they can't, or don't want to remember Steve Bruce, Andy Lineghan types. Didn't do too badly did they?...It will be good not to have to see the lazy shoulder shrugs of Howson and Bennett as the opposing team just meandered by them, maybe in amongst those gone, are some dressing room sub- deviders and. I am experienced, I know best type...Maybe we still have a couple in the camp. Time will tell, I don't think that the new regime will bend too easily, my way or the highway I think will be the message....Will we beat Fulham? I don't know, but I am pretty certain that the canary men will give it a very good try...They want to succeed

I'm really not sure that I can remember a start of a season when I am so genuinely clueless regarding predicting how City will do. It's such a huge change, and also gamble, that all I can do, like everyone else, is wait and see. The Championship is the toughest league to get out of, particularly when considering the way that the first years parachute money was squandered................now its not about having the best or, close to the best squad in the league, it really is about having the best "team".........let's see if we have.

The defence still makes me nervous but that could be because it's been bad for so long

I'm with you on that, against Brighton we did look a bit shaky at the back at times, but hopefully that will improve over time, have to keep in mind that none of the back six had played together up until a few week ago, unless you count the newly formed right wing back in Wildschut and Russ

Would prefer to see Oliveira ahead of Jerome, but f*ck it it's the opening day I'm gonna try and stay positive at the very least until the game starts :D

Such a frustrating first half. On the ball we look generally brilliant and are creating chances but we just can't seem to put them away. Watkins should've put us 1-0 up and in all honesty 2-0 up as well. Wildschut, Maddison and Vrancic have all got in great positions and fluffed their lines.

The main problem is our wing backs. Wildschut's having a stormer going forward but defensively he's leaving a hell of a lot to be desired, and Fredericks is owning Husband on the other flank. Actually think the centre backs, particularly Zimmermann, are playing well. Another issue as well is the midfield are often pushing too far up. We're trying to play a high pressure game and I don't doubt that'll work against teams in this division, but Fulham are arguably the best passers in the league and are able to find their way out a lot of the time and when they do our midfield have pushed so far forwards that our defence is exposed.

We're doing a lot of good things when we go forward though, we just need to take our chances. I wouldn't be opposed to getting Nelson on at half time. Next goal is absolutely huge. Fulham get it they've won the game, we get it then anything can happen. Come on lads.

Pleased with the way we played, fully deserved a draw. Agree about the wing backs though.

Forgot to say, Oliveiras "celebration " was a bit suspect, clearly felt he should have been on from the start.

In which case I'll fill you in - that stupid Canary Utd II i.e the guy who's pissed coz Martin slept with his mrs started a thread slating him about 10 seconds post the own goal.

To which I gave one of my usual replies and got likened to your good self! Then a couple of the other usuals chipped in.
