Got quite outplayed first half. Ausgburg are a good team no doubting that. For us I thought Mulumbu was arguably our best player in that first half. He's much better on the ball than I remember and he's made some good challenges as well. Hoolahan has also been a threat throughout, and Toffolo is looking decent at left back. Ruddy as well has been excellent, making 2 very good saves, the first one was fantastic.
Have to say though Seb Bassong looks woefully out of shape. Every time the camera zooms in on him he's catching his breath. I don't think he's made one good challenge yet, and on the ball he's so clumsy. Combine him and Russell Martin who got absolutely destroyed by that striker at the end of the half and he really should've scored, and it's very clear that we need another centre back before the season starts. Not too impressed by Johnson or Grabban either, Grabban looks like he's not particularly interested, although to be fair he is stuck up front by himself with not a lot to feed on, and Johnson gives it away every time he gets it, and also doesn't look that bothered. Everyone else is a much of a muchness. Hoping to see Ricky and Vadis 2nd half, I haven't watched any of our pre-season games so far so would like to see how they do.
