Expect another team to pack the midfield and try and hold out for a point. It wouldn't surprise me if that's what we saw in every home game from now on. The difference between the Charlton game and the games against Birmingham and Bournemouth, is that against the latter 2 we struggled to break them down and didn't really create too many chances, but against Charlton we had quite a few opportunities yet failed to take them. Before that game the one thing we hadn't had a problem with so far this season is taking our chances, so hopefully normal service will be resumed this week, and we can get a goal or two.

Hopefully we'll switch back to 4-2-3-1, with Grabban either being dropped, or put into the wide left position, with Hoolahan moved into the centre.

You'd expect us to win this one, but as proved by the fact we've only taken 2 points from our last 3 home games, it's never as simple as that. I'm gonna go with a 2-0 Norwich win though. Win this and we'll almost certainly be top going into the international break, which would be very nice.

I hope we revert to a 4231 and get wes central,   or even a more confident 3232 bearing in mind teams are likely to sit back.   As key is what the back will be,  olsson not been the same and we were playing well with garrido at left back,  turner been off teh pace the last couple of matches,  martin

a poor cb and neither right back inspiring much confidence.  I do expect the same back 4 though.

I am hoping for howson to start in place of bj.   The more i see the winner on tuesday the more annoyed i am at the lazy closing down to prevent the shot.

I dont think there is too much wrong with the creativity in the team (56 shots in 3 games is a v healthy number!),  against Bournemouth we dominated the first half and should have been 2/3 up at half time but fell to a sucker punch (lafferty and grabban had excellent chances).    Against Bham we should been ahead (grabban, redmond and tettey ) but some sloppy defending meant we had to chase the game.   Finally against charlton we had fewer shots but some excellent chances to take the lead (Grabban, wes, Jerome).

The key is to improve our finishing (bizarre as the leagues top scorers) as the common theme is the inability to take chances to secure a win;   our strikers must improve their finishing - just 13 of those shots were on target and some of the chances seemed easier to score than miss.

I agree, but not for the same reasons, as I don't think we lack confidence. But it changes the whole dynamic of the game. Teams will come here and pack the midfield, and keep it tight. If we score first they have to change that plan, they have to play a bit more open and come onto us, either that or just settle for defeat.

We play much better when teams actually attack us, which is proven by our current away record.

Exactly that.

From pretty early on in the Charlton game I sat there thinking "We need a goal to get them out".

With a loss behind us and Neil now free to change the team without concerns about breaking a winning side how would you line up if you were in charge?

I have to say that despite our recent results I have not bee entirely convinced by the 4-4-2, I tend to prefer the 4-2-3-1 we started with. I appreciate it has been difficult for Neil to drop either of Grabban or Jerome bearing in mind their scoring runs but I do think we look better with more players looking for the spaces between the lines.

So, I would go for the following;

                           Ruddy

Martin     Hooiveld     Turner     Olsson

                  Tetty             Johnson

Redmond    Hoolahan / Howson   Lafferty

                            Jerome

I think Lafferty was unlucky to lose his place, he is out of position but he had shown glimpses of real class, if a team is going to sit deep I would fancy him to help unlock them.

I know we have a big squad with more than capable players at this level but I'm not sure I agree with call for either Grabban or Jerome to be dropped. Being dropped nowadays doesn't give you a chance to play yourself back into form. And I'm not convinced either of those two are out of form but rather just had poor games on Tuesday.

I think Wes is the one who may need changing but to be fair to him, he has played better away from home. Many managers have and do change their line ups from home to away games and it might be a ploy for NA if the current pattern becomes too regular.

I'm wondering if Howson will come in for Tettey of Johnson?

As much of a conundrum as Wes is, he actually had one of his better games last time out.

For all sorts of reasons, we need a win and a good one.

If what we suspect is true, that they will come and park themselves in their half and try to score on a break, I can only hope that Adams and Co will have spent the last few days preparing for this.

We have pace in the side, except most of the defence, so the beat a brick wall set up we have to move the ball quickly. If Howson is playing, his contribution could be vital in this.

I think that we shall just about win, but I would prefer an emphatic one, to frighten all teams coming here.

Would like to see Lafferty in as well.   I like Grabban too, his movement really unsettles defenders.

Happy with Martin at CB, so I would go -

                 Ruddy

Whittaker  Matin Turner Olsson

            Tettey Howson

Redmond   Hoolahan   Lafferty

                Grabban

Jerome and Murphy to come on and cause mayhem later in the match against tired defenders.

I personally would go for:

Ruddy
Whittaker Martin Turner Olsson
Tettey Howson
Redmond Hoolahan Bennett
Jerome

There's no chance we'll see that, but I would like to see Elliott Bennett on the left rather than Hoolahan or Lafferty, as he's really the only other natural winger we have that can play 90 minutes apart from Redmond. Failing Bennett I'd have Lafferty on the left. I thought Martin played well at centre back in the week, so don't see a reason to change that, I would also like to see Howson in for Johnson, simply because I didn't think Johnson had his best game against Charlton.

Just about to leave for CR, I still think we'll win but I don't want to say we definitely will just yet. If we play like we did against Charlton though then I'd be confident.

I'm hoping Tettey is tired or something, because if Neil seriously rates Johnson more highly, then he needs his head checking.

I'd have preferred for Johnson to stand down for this one, but Howson - Johnson is better balanced as a 'right foot - left foot' combination. It may also be that Tettey will be involved in the international break coming up and Johnson won't. My guesses anyway.

Swapping hooiveld and martin in alternate days is an odd one, just don't understand it.

Ditto bj over tettey, esp with the lazy non defending for Tues winner and a poor game by bj at Blackpool.

And persisting with 4222 and an out of position Wes.

Should still have enough, but
