Had one of those five shots on target got past Westwood we would have won that easily.
Why are we leaving it so late to up the tempo and dominate? We've been doing it all season, it worked early on, now teams are coping with it. Sheff Wed today timewasted with two pretend injuries, a sub walking off the pitch at 1 mile per hour, those incidents really killed our momentum. Lets not pretend that they didn't employ that tactic intentionally, as soon as we got on top towards the end they decided they'd be happy to settle for a point, and that's what they got.
We have some real issues. Are we really going to justify 1 win in 7 games by playing the "luck" card again, like we constantly did under Hughton? I don't think our lack of points is down to a lack of luck, I think it has much more to do with the fact that we all too often look every bit the mediocre Championship team. For the first 65 minutes today we were just that, bang average.
I'm grumpier than usual because I made the effort and parted with cash today. Last season under Hughton we simply weren't picking up enough points to stay up, and recently under Adams we simply aren't picking up any points to go back up.
The one positive that I'm taking out of this game is the way that Howson imposed himself on the game, particularly towards the end, he was great in the second half and we really need his quality going forward. O'Neill also looked looks like a player willing to stand up and be counted, but is Adams prepared to drop Johnson for O'Neill, or is he blind?
I've had a beer and I'm grumpy, should log off really.
