Its a shame we've fallen out with Grabban, when he can be bothered he is our most mobile striker.

Ruddy repeating his sloppy mistake from last week. Tettey did very well on that counter

So, do we try and keep the score down here, or do we go for it and try a 3-4-2 formation with two strikers?

Think this is the first time I've ever known Alex Neil to be stuck for ideas. Not that I have any, when we are down to 10 men away from home.

The defending is really disappointing. Also looks like their heads have gone down which were not used to seeing

All over now. Whittaker's absolute stupidity has cost us so heavily.

Both of our fullbacks were crap today. Didn't know Brady was that slow. Mane, Rodriguez and Cedric all just runned past him. Equally slow Whittaker took two yellow, because he was afraid of opponent's speed. God damn I miss Olsson. He almost always gets away with his bad positioning because of his speed and work rate.

We really didnt play as a team that badly, but talent on their wings and our total lack of speed made them better team today and well earned 3 points for Southampton.

Conceding when we did really changed the game psychologically I think. Get in at half-time at 0-0, when the home team come back out, every passing minute they're not ahead the pressure mounts and the more nervy they get. That goal was just morale sapping for us and gave them a massive lift going into half time. No pressure on them and they can play with freedom. I know we are, but we look defeated. Not seen that for a while

thought AN would have changed it up front,   lobbing high and long balls in the hope of hitting Jerome will not work at all.   at 3-0 far to late.  Whittaker cost us a little, but several others gave it away too easy.  Whoever lost it in front of the dugouts two passes and in for their first. thought that was criminal ...   lost the stream

Jerome just had a go at Brady for not being able to find him there, Jerome had I point I think, Brady wasn't under too much pressure.

Their left back has also done well today against Redmond

Players need lifting in this situation. Not sure Russ is particularly good at that. Holt would be elbowing people and sticking the boot in to show the rest of the team they still had to fight

Good point by the commentator there as well, 2 weeks before our next game due to international break so we're going to have to stew on this

The most upsetting thing about this shambles of a game is not the dropped points, not the end of Alex Neil's unbeaten away record, but having to wonder whether we've got any transfer targets watching who may now decide that they won't touch us with a barge-pole. Especially when a couple of our apparent targets are linked with Southampton.

But many of us know full well that if we continue with this Whitaker-Martin partnership we are going to have days when one of them is a liability. Not that the rest of our back five have been much better today. I'm wondering with Declan Rudd deserves his shot now too, it not just his shaky moments and sometimes questionable positioning, but also a slight loss of passion I think..... I'm sure he used to be better at organising his defence. If only we could put Mark Bunn's heart into John Ruddy's big frame.

I thought Ruddy and Bassong where the two who stood out to me the rest were almost very poor

Not a single shot on target according to the stats. Only three all game

That was the pivotal moment really. Silly to lose possession in such a way at that stage of the game when you're almost home. Changed the game as much as Whittaker's sending off in the first place

The second yellow card was stupid from Whittaker, considering he already had the first.

But the first yellow was also a bit silly from the ref wasn't it? Early in the game that should be a verbal warning, contrast that to Glenn Murray's early foul the other week, where he didn't even get a yellow.
