Do we think Fer will be ready to go with no pre-season action under his belt and less than a week back in training? I guess he hasn't had too long off considering how deep they went into the World Cup, but he hasn't had a great deal of game action since May. 

It's a good point. The alternative would be Surman, I suppose, which would be fine for me.

Id just stick him him. Wont get match fit any other way. With a bit of luck he'll pick up an injury for a few months and than the transfer window will slam shut mwwwahhahahahaha

Seeing as how we're well short of match fit midfielders and Fer is still here, is he going to start on Sunday?

The evidence points towards going back to the diamond with the combattive Lafferty making up for the fact we'd be playing Wes, Redmond and two strikers.

I can see us going from the Diamond.jpg listed below to the 1-4-1.jpg if we're up against it or to the 3-3.jpg if chasing the game. This is where having even a 70% fit Fer could come in useful, he'd come on for Wes or surman in the two alterations potentially.

It's nice to have so many options really.

Wolves are going to be up for this but I think we can edge them out on quality, I remember us having a bit of a slow start to the season after being promoted from League One and I'm hoping Wolves will too.

Neither squad has seen much in the way of a huge amount of change so both should be already well gelled.

IMO, the line up will be fairly similar to what he started with vs Celta Vigo, which I see slightly differently (though these formations are seldom fixed):

Howson is definitely out, but Fer, Tettey and even O'Neil (who has been training with City) could also come into CM. Pilks, Bennett and Josh Murphy are options in the Grabban and Redmond positions, while Hooper, of course, is an option up front. It is great to have all those options!

Leaving the captain out and playing Lafferty behind Hooper, while playing Pilkington who hasn't had much pre-season game time. That's extremely brave.

I'd personally go with

I don't think Fer has had enough training to play here, but should be in contention for Watford, also think we'll have success playing the ball on the deck against Wolves so that's why I've gone with Grabban over Lafferty, and I was impressed with Elliott Bennett this pre-season.

Haha, trying to post while at work.....not a great idea, I mean we could go in with 10, and see what happens

It should have had Surman in there as well next to Johnson, and once Fer is back to full fitness, I'd swap him out for Fer.
