Well, Marcus Evans initial remit start of this season was for a young, upcoming manager to work with young players and create a legacy whilst playing passing, attractive football.

They've now got an older manager to try and save them, who doesn't play passing football, who doesn't really look to youth (bar a small period with Villa when he had no choice) and doesn't seem to offer any long-term option as even with us, he nearly left for Burnley before jumping ship to Villa and has been a short-term option ever since.

Hope he fails miserably, of course.

A bit surprising that.... Norwich U23 manager to Ipswich First Team Coach seems like a sideways step at best.

Although if he's clever and grabbed himself a 2.5 year contract or something he'll get paid a lot of money for a few months work

I wonder whether Ian Culverhouse jumped the gun a bit and is now licking his wounds, seemed like too much of a coincidence for him to quit his job a week ago.

I was hoping he was seeking a short term deal until January because he wants to try and join an MLS club in their preseason, which would be February as their season kicks off in early March.

That is quite a worrying thought now

Joining Ipswich would probably be the difference between 22,000 people and 8,000 people attending his testimonial at £15 a ticket, needs to factor that into his contract negotiations!

There was me just a few months ago wanting PL to come back to Norwich in place of Farke, it was ridiculous then, embarrassing looking back, and thank goodness that this move now means I and others like me never ever again think that PL would be a good option for our club again......he has zero loyalty and little class (as he showed when he came back with Villa)j and I am very much looking forward to the reception he will receive in February as that really is burning your bridges, if there were any left to burn that is.

Don't doubt Lambert might try though. He did sign Holt for Villa after all (and bring him on against us just to spite us) and tried to sign Wes as well. Signed Elliott Bennett and Elliott Ward for Blackburn as well I think. I'd be amazed if he didn't try sign at least one player from his days here. Could definitely see him trying to get Pilkington on loan.
