Only A Small Step, But In The Right Direction

That´s how we´ve been clamouring for them to play

Take an early lead, then don´t throw it away

And for once we seemed more solid than frail

Which should give them all a boost, without fail

Changes were expected after the last game

But some surprising names out of the frame

Not least M. Turner pushed down to the bench

But his replacement, Cuellar, dug his trench

And this week Ruddy, much maligned of late

Did what was needed to keep a clean slate

Wingers were dropped once again, but this time

The move seemed to help everything to rhyme

O´Neil, I must say, I like in the role

Of midfield general, to lead and cajole

And although one-nil may not seem like much

This was a big win, to help keep in touch

I was reminded at the full time blast

Of many Man U results from the past

Coincidence, it was, quite probably

But they were masters at turning one point to three

And dare I say, Phelan M, who was there

For many years, is now helping out here

Once again, coincidence one might say

But if this is the result, long may he stay

So one or two smiles are hopefully back

And for once, Adams should not receive flak. OTBC

Well said, RBF. One win doesn't turn things around, but it's a start. I'm hoping that Phelan will add a degree of cohesion at the back, and that seemed to be the case today as the balance between attack and defence was achieved. Long may it continue!
