Pre match "music"

Part of the match day experience is the pre match discussion with friends in neighbouring seats. I find this impossible with the current level of the PA system coupled with the choice of pre match music.

Does anyone agree that it's too loud ?

Is it an attempt by the Club to generate an "atmosphere" which is a comment on the lack of noise from the crowd?

The loudness differs, depending where you sit and how many people there are. Towards the top of the stand is loudest and because there are fewer people there before the match, the sound reverberates around more and seems louder.  The top of the Barclay is particularly echoey.

Live and let die by guns and roses is terrible too, if they have to play that song then how about playing the original version.

Guns N Roses version is much better than the original Wings version IMO.

I can't say as this kind of thing has ever bothered me, but then again I'm not one of those guys who gets into the stadium early, I'll be walking towards it as live and let die is blaring out and will get in at around 2:57pm.

I wish that the end of O'Fortuna was actually in time with the teams coming out of the tunnel, half the time they have to play it through twice.

I do like the music, but I don't like the teams coming out to Live and Let Die, I preferred it when we had 'Right Here Right Now' by Fat Boy Slim.

And yeah, I would rather we had the Samba back as the goal music.

Yeah. It is hopelessly timed.  The impact of the music is completely lost if not timed with the players actually appearing.

Still resent goal music though, whatever it is.  What music people like is an individual thing.   A goal is universally popular - whatever is piped through will not be universally popular, so for some people their experience of celebrating a goal is spoiled.

It's surprising to hear so many people say this as I thought it was universally despised.

I'd prefer there to be no music at all, don't think it's needed.....you're not going to struggle for sound when we score.

Have to say I used to say the same thing BB, but probably become institutionalised over the last few years. If we're going to have it, lets have the samba.

The samba works. It does seem to give the crowd a lift. The change seems to be for changes sake, so bring back the samba!!

Is there any need for walk out or goal music at all ?

A good atmosphere and genuine crowd noise is all that is required. 

As for the manufactured on the ball city just before start of the game.. that is just embarrassing.

Biggest problem is, it's been around for so long now, there's a whole generation of fans who think it's natural. It's not, it's tinpot and I despise it.

Sadly the owners would prefer everybody to sit in their seats operating a clacker joining in with 

manufactured chant of OTBC and politely clapping a goal whilst listening to kak music.

On the other hand it appears acceptable for a board member to get completley hammered,

stagger out on the pitch and spout drunken nonsense whilst we are told off like naughty school

children if we dare to put one foot on the pitch to celebrate double promotion.

I wonder out of interest how many clubs infact do use goal music as i seem to hear alot of it on MOTD and the football league show. Football is not the only sport where music is used though, with the likes of Rugby, 20 twenty Cricket to name but two. I love to sing at matches and create an atmosphere, but i personaly believe it goes back to terracing again. Since all seater stadiums were enforced atmosphere amongst crowds have decreased imo, you may say but away support at grounds is great, but how many of the away supporters actually sit and sing? I therefore don't have a problem with goal music, atleast it gets people out of their seats and actually makes some noice...And by the way, please no Samba god i have heard that to many years now
