Cobh Ramblers tonight as part of City's training camp in Ireland this week.

Probably not a lot to be learned about tactics and set ups, Steven Naismith intimated in an in interview that there is a lot of information to take in about how Farke wants them to play, and that its very different from what they have done in the past.

Will be interesting to see if Howson makes an appearance. I would suspect he won't.

I think one of the pinkun journos will be there, tweeting updates.

A few bits of interest - Jamal Louis made his debut tonight, Jonny Howson and Dorrans weren't there, and Naismith was captain in the second half. Zimmerman is massive, Marley Watkins is very pacey. They played a 4-3-3 / 4-1-4-1 in both halves, 9 subs used in the second half, only the two centre backs played the 90 minutes.

Dorrans was on a plane to Scotland. Howson was in Ireland, fit, but not in plans, as I understand.

one bit of interest from me was that Wildshut played at full back, I know he's reported to be available, but with us in short supply of full backs this could be an opportunity that might be worth looking further into, and lets face it he wouldn't be the first winger to be converted into a attacking full back, obviously Antonio Valencia and Robbie Brady spring to mind, plus it might be a way for us to get some value out of that £7m we paid for him

Or I could be looking to deep into this and he just played 45 minutes against Cobh Ramblers in a pre-season game out of position as we have no other options there

Thoroughly enjoyable match against a very resilient Lowestoft. Maddison very much caught the eye first half, along with Naismith and Jamal Lewis.

Pritchard pulled the strings second half, Vrancic impressed, as did Wildschut.

Harrison Reed, very tidy. Carlton Morris looked okay, and certainly up to being our third striker.

We very much concentrated in keeping the ball, and high energy pressing, but you could tell Farke has been working em hard, they looked knackered by the end, pretty hot day too.

Not a pre season friendly as such, but the U23's are playing tonight, and a certain Mr Tony Andreu has just scored!

We also have a striker playing on trial, Pierre Xavier Fonkeu, 20 year old from Club Brugge.

Also a young lad from Liverpool on trial, Adam Phillips.

I don't know how your missus would react to that Morty but if I just told her I might be in hospital when the league season starts. Not worth the risk

Nah but she lives in Wymondham and is literally driving down to Cambridge at the moment, so if I told her to wait at mine for 3 hours whilst I'm the game she would not be pleased haha. Actually think my best option is to take ask her to come to the game with me on the promise that we'll go somewhere half-decent for dinner

Overall still feeling positive Morty ?

Bit of a delayed report, but been away from my laptop. Our style is night and day from that of previous seasons, you're not gonna be seeing many long balls. This was summed up by when someone hacked the ball clear from the edge of our area after a bit of Cambridge pressure and Farke did his nut because there was a pass on.

Looks like we're still getting used to the change and I reckon we'll start slowly. I also think some time in the first 3 or 4 games we'll give at least one goal away by gifting the opposition possession around our box. People are going to have to be really patient.

I thought Murphy looked fantastic and Vrancic looks a hell of a player.

Fingers crossed Pritchards injury isn't as bad as it seems to be, ditto Klose! Will be a massive season for Pritchard, so would be good for him to get off to a flying start.
