Quick fire goals

We seem to be very good at striking goals in quick succession at the moment, and I wondered whether people are putting it down to coincidence or is it something specific that Adams has the squad working on? Can't remember the last time we had so many goals within a few minutes of each other in so many games...

Watford: Grabban (59), Tettey (61)

Blackburn: Johnson (87), Grabban (90),

Cardiff: Olsson (54), Hoolahan (58)

Brentford: Tettey (68), Jerome (75, 83)

Birmingham: (Jerome 52, 55)

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

It's pretty impressive. It shows the attacking quality we have that when we're playing well we can batter teams in a short amount of time.

The only downside to those goals, is all of them are in the second half. That needs to be addressed.

Can add Grabban (80), and Murphy (81) from yesterday onto that list as well.

More than once NA has referred to bringing on more pace late on when defenders are tiring. He said it again of Murphy's entrance.We have scored a number of goals later in a game, so his judgement seems correct.

As pleasing as the result at Blackpool were some statistics which were impressive: (from the BBC Championship page)

• We had 57% of possession. In the second half Blackpool were almost sheltering in their bunker. It must have seemed overwhelming to them at times. After the match the manager commented on the superb fitness levels of his team. They can play high tempo all game (- perhaps not so much in the first half?), and his substitutions were tactical, and not because players were tiring. Little wonder that at the moment players like Howson, Hooper and Vadis are short of the match fitness level he wants - the will probably play in a development game on Monday.
• We showed greater accuracy in shooting this week - 15 attempts, with 6 on target. If only Redders and Johno could improve their accuracy, we might have even more goals!
• We are still picking up yellow cards - one more each for Tettey and Johnson yesterday. We could have a suspension if they continue at the present rate.

I do think it's an occupational hazard for DM like Tettey and Johnson to pick up yellow cards tho so I'm not too worried about that. They are likely to be suspended at some point.
