I'm sorry, but a couple of weeks ago somebody on here said that Mulumbu would be a good signing on a free, and suddenly he's set to sign, and only a couple of days ago somebody else on here just happened to mention that if Spurs sign Trippier then they'll have quite a few right backs, and suddenly Yedlin is being linked with a move Either it's lazy journalism, or Mr McNally is amongst us.

Don't know much about Yedlin myself apart from his ridiculous pace. Considering that Martin and Whittaker's main problem is dealing with pacey wingers (which there are plenty of in this league) then this would make sense as a signing. However his other defensive attributes are like I don't know.

The odd tasty tackle in the above Belgium video. Looks very dangerous going forward and as the above video shows his pace is a very welcome defensive asset. I agree though probably very little in this

Whilst it is probably bullshit that we'vealready made a move I think the Yedlin one is pretty realistic. We've done a fair bit of business with spuds in recent years, he plays a position we need, they'll almost certainly be shipping him out for a year and I can't see anybody better than us picking him up.

Many Spurs sites and blogs are endorsing this, citing the successful loan period of Naughton under Lambert.

Right back seems to be the high competition position this season, with Liverpool, West Ham, Spurs, Norwich, Man Utd, Southampton, Man City and Sunderland apparently all needing or wanting to sign one.

It looks as if we just need a couple of moves to happen to set off a chain reaction and see what is left for us. I think we'll be waiting to see who Liverpool sign, which will then determine who West Ham sign, which will then determine what's left on the market for us. 

I hope that Liverpool get Clyne who is out of our league, leaving West Ham to sign one of Jenkinson/Trippier/Johnson, leaving us with whoever they don't sign from that three + Lowton, Byram and possibly Yedlin to choose from. 

Its not nice admitting that we're below West Ham in the pecking order, but players seem to like to move to London these days and they are only one season away from moving to the Olympic Stadium.

Matt Lowton is apparently about to join Burnley on a three year deal so that rules him out. 

That's the chain started though I guess. DeAndre Yedlin is now third in the Spurs pecking order. 

Seeing as he isn't in their first team plans I'd rather us try and sign him on a permanent, or at least put a buy out clause in the loan deal so we can buy him for say £5m if he does well and we stay up.

Lol could you imagine that the club literally had no idea what to do in their board meeting when discussing transfers and then McNally pipes up going "I was on Norwichtalk last night and this poster called Din said we should sign Mulumbu!" "Great shout David! I hadn't thought of him!" "Who's this Quagliarella bloke as well? Is he worth a look?"

I think its more that its easy/lazy journalism to trawl forums and then reprint the rumours as 'articles'

I'm sorry but why is this Mulumbu deal taking so long? It must've been about 2 weeks now since we first heard about it. It looks all but done (Everywhere is reporting we're 'set' to sign him, he's favourited tweets linking him with us) yet it's still dragging on. He's a free agent, so I didn't understand the delay. It was 4 days ago it was announced he's done his medical, so assuming he agreed personal terms before he did that, I don't see what's taking so long to be honest.

Does he have to wait until his contract officially expires? Wouldnt have thought so, presumably he could talk to other clubs from January and sign pre-contract agreements

They don't have to wait until his contract expires, no. West Brom stated that they wouldn't be offering him a new contract so he's game.

Probably just a case of not wanting to announce it until the contract has been signed. i expect the squad will be back from their holidays soon so it'll probably be then. No need to worry.

They can arrange a pre-contract agreement now, but he wouldn't officially become our player until 1st July. So perhaps he has signed and the club have chosen to wait until 1st July to announce? 

Aren't signings usually unveiled at press conferences anyway? The man is probably still on holiday.
