Bad luck for RB, but it makes the Cuellar signing look impressive. Always probably going to be cover for injuries/suspensions, but there and just as well he is.

Real blow that. With a proper run I think he could be a first class CB. At Blackburn in the 1st half every time they went forward or crossed the ball it looked like they were going to score. 2nd half they didn't threaten once. having 2 natural CB's makes all the difference.
Cuellar sounds like he was very rusty last night (I wasn't there so just going from reports). Maybe a new CB is still required as Martin, however much I love the guy, just doesn't quite seem to cut it...

If Bennett was fit I'd prefer him over the 2 centre halves we bought in definitely, as well as Martin. Such a shame for him as well as the team that he's been ruled out.

So it looks like sometime in November he will be back, and then perhaps have games with the U21s, or whoever. Fortunately we have signed two good centre backs in Hooiveld and Miguel, as well as Cuellar, so we have five when they are all fit!
If they were all fit, you would have to say that currently Turner is playing so well that he would be an automatic choice. Who would partner him is a difficult decision for NA. I suspect that Hooiveld might get the nod, because of his height, experience and goal scoring record. Miguel can also play at fullback, - left sided?
With a longer time horizon, (next year in the Prem?), I suspect that Miguel and Bennett would be serious candidates.
What does seem clear is that NA doesn't really rate Martin at CB, however much that is the player's preferred position, but we shall see.
