Haha, I do the same, I'm always running into players around the city, and it feels a bit "teen groupie" mithering them.

Some months ago I crashed a VIP area in a city bar and suddenly found myself stood next to Dion Dublin, Iwan Roberts, Darren Eadie and Huckergod. I actually had to leave, it was all too much!

I once stopped at a pedestrian crossing only for Robert Snodgrass to walk across the front of my car. Made eye contact, he obviously knew I recognised him, and all I could do was smile like a dimwit, give a thumbs up and probably look like a right creeper. My Missus has never let me live that down.

I almost walked out in front of John Ruddy's car on theatre street once. Other than that I have have bumped into Craig Fleming, Phil Mulryne and Adam Drury.

I saw Ruddy in Chapelfield, just after he signed, and thought he was Dean Ashton!

When I was in college (University of Oklahoma) I used to see Barry Switzer all the time.  Coach Switzer is legendary in American football circles, with three national title rings... but he retired right as I got to school (then later got a Super Bowl ring coaching the Dallas Cowboys).  Anyway, I usually saw him around campus corner (local shops just off campus) running errands.  But you get to seeing him so much that a quick nod and a "mornin' coach" was enough acknowledgement without things getting too creepy.

Slightly harsh on him, I think he has looked reasonably lively.

I don't think McGrandles will be pushing anyone out of our starting 11 anytime soon... Don't want to judge him too soon but hasn't looked particularly promising so far.    But Vadis definitely looks like a quality player.

I would say it more shows lack of match fitness / practise. Which is to be expected really.

What is pleasing is that the referee is not pulling every vigorous challenge up. Only the obvious are being whistled.
