Squad Overhaul

This needs to be our squad for next season:

GK: New GK, Rudd/McGovern, Jones
RB: Pinto, New RB
LB: New LB (Dijks?), Toffolo
CB: New CB, New CB, New CB, New CB
CM: Howson, Tettey, Dorrans, Thompson, New CM/Godfrey
AM: Pritchard, Hoolahan, Maddison, Jacob, Wildschut, Josh
ST: Oliveira, Jerome, New ST

Sell/release: Ruddy, Whittaker, Martin, Bennett, Bassong, Klose, Turner, Mulumbu, Jarvis, Naismith, Andreu, Lafferty, maybe McGovern.

Will it happen though? How many of them are actually going to leave this summer?

I don't think we will find it very easy to 'sell' Russell Martin, Matt Jarvis, or Steven Naismith. We are stuck with them, unless we pay up part of their contracts. 

Same with McGovern and Tony Andreu. We've given long contracts to a load of ageing players or 'jobs for the boys' in the case of the Hamilton two, and now we're stuck with them.

As long as we actually do release Ruddy, Bennett, Bassong, Turner, Whittaker, Mulumbu, and Lafferty..... and manage to persuade Rudd to sign a new contract in the process.... then that's a good start and I'm sure we can cope with Russell Martin sticking around as a squad player and Matt Jarvis making sure the physio's are keeping busy.

Read somewhere that Rudd was going to be allowed to leave.  For me Tettey has had his day, he's not offering much these days, and if we're having a clearout, imo, he's one for the chop.

We must get rid of the deadwood this time, even if it costs a lot of money in paid up contracts.  We can't afford to be dragged down any further by, as has been said above, the 'ageing players' or 'jobs for the boys players'.  They must go, if nothing else a lot of money would be freed up for wages.

Agree on Tettey, I think Thompson or Godfrey have an opportunity to replace him

Paddy Davitt reporting on Twitter that Kyle Lafferty has said he's off in two weeks, and Norwich won't be taking the optional year on his contract.

About time too.  Although some will be disappointed who seemed to think he would be the answer to all our prayers.  His warm ups will be missed!

Thank god. Now we don't have to put up with the pathetic hero's welcome he seemed to get whenever he got 5 minutes on the pitch, rather than cheering for the guy he just replaced who's worked tirelessly for 85 minutes and scored 20 goals this season...
