I think we're all pretty happy with it (well I should hope you all are!)

Is this squad actually stronger than last seasons?

Would this squad / team hold its own in the Premiership?

It's stronger than the squad we had in the first, or arguably the second season in the Premier League, and I would argue that it's better than 3 or 4 of the current Premier League teams squads. When you look at it, we've only really lost Snodgrass and Fer who were influential players last year. Apart from that we've only lost Pilkington, who barely played last season, and van Wolfswinkel from our first team. All the rest to leave are either youth players or reserves. We've certainly got more depth in our squad this season, and we've signed some very good players to replace some of those who have left.

I don't think we'll ever really know whether this squad is stronger than last season's squad, until we see the current lot in the Premier League. But I certainly think it's very close.

I think in some areas it is stronger than last season, upfront for example. But overall I would say it is.

Would we hold our own in the prem, that is a good question. Although upfront might be stronger I am still not convinced about our defence, the right back position has worried me for quite awhile mainly if Whitt is playing because he seems to switch off quite a bit and hardly ever seems to stop crosses coming in; this would be a position that would need looking at if we were to go up.

This squad is very strong for the Champs Mort, and i feel if suddenly dumped up into the prem now, it would out perform last seasons squad. Hooiveld has only been here a short while but is already shaming Seb with his commitment and leadership, but Its the forwards that really seem to be delivering, this lot play with a bit of bite that we never really saw from RVW and Elmander. my final point would be that word 'squad'....not just a couple of big money buys and other players, but a well balanced, mixed experienced, motivated and it seems, happy squad, that is discovering the knack of turning games round. Good work so far Neil, keep it up and get us up.

I thought before a ball was kicked that this squad was probably the strongest in this league and since the latest additions I am convinced that this squad is considerably stronger than last season.....the attacking options at this level are exceptional as are the midfield and that's why I am expecting an automatic promotion spot.
