Statement from Carrow Road.

I agree with all of that, however, would there be anything so wrong in at least acknowledging that, as fans, our concerns have been heard, and are considered legitimate?
Isn't that what McNally did after the game on Saturday (and for the avoidance of doubt, I'm referring to his tweet)? ;-)

Hmmm, in a small way I guess. I would have preferred something more in the way of a formal statement though, from the club, as opposed to his personal Twitter account.

But that is what goes with owning and running a football club. You may own it intrinsically but you still have ten of thousands of owners in a spiritual sense.

If you don't like pressure, and that is all it is despite Saturday's bit of mayhem, then you aren't really being a custodian or director of the club.

If you are damned then so be it. You will wake up tomorrow.
I accept all of that and understand what you're saying. However, why do it unless there's something meaningful to say?

It doesn't have to be meaningful, but I don't see how saying nothing whatsoever, and hiding out at Carrow road, is exactly engaging with the fans, or at least pretending to empathise. We aren't a club run by faceless businessmen.

Bottom line Morty, unless they were to come out with the statement, "he's sacked" anything else wouldn't be sufficient for a number of fans. Unless, of course you can suggest something else that would satisfy the fans?

I'm not trying to condone their inaction, just saying I can see why nothing has been forthcoming.

All there is to 'engage with' for the most part is a lot of stupid abuse. Anyone who looks at the stats can see we've maintained a decent standard attacking throughout the season by and large and our defense has gone to pot for the last four games from players switching off and not marking properly. That has translated into the usual 'the manager's clueless' malarkey. Ignoring them and getting on with trying to address that is the right approach in my opinion.

I see what you're saying, and you are never going to please everyone, some people will literally sneer at anything right now.

But, generally, i think, in recent times, the club has become very hard faced in their approach to PR.

Oh, so because some people have a differing opinion to yours, and have pretty legitimate concerns, you would rather term it stupid abuse?

There's every reason not to be happy with the results of late, that's a legitimate concern, other than that I think a lot of it's pretty hysterical and pathetic. During Hughton's time I felt hysteria was doing more to destroy morale and focus in the squad and damaging managerial judgement and the same's happening here.

So, fans voicing their legitimate concerns are " hysterical and pathetic "?

Sorry fella, poor performances and results are what destroys morale, not hysterical or pathetic fans.

What, idiots tweeting Ruddy saying 'he's just in it for the money' and sounding off at MacNally with 'what a waste of money' is voicing 'legitimate concerns' in your view?

So, thats about 20 or 30 fans in total? Do you think they are representative of the fanbase majority?

Sorry, but I find your use of the phrase "hysterical and pathetic" as a general description of the way that people have chosen to voice their concerns, a bit patronising.

I don't get what a statement would show. I don't get what a statement from the Club could say (over and above what Adams has already said) that would be seen as  being productive. It would just show that  Adams is being undermined, and that is a rocky road. It would just serve people's desire to get their questions recognised. No problem in being concerned/frustrated etc, but what could the Board REALLY say that would appease certain concerns?

If they were going to get rid of him, after Saturday, they would have done already. Would a defeat on Sat, away at a difficult place, be THE defining moment in Adams continued employment? I'm not so sure.

One thing is that Adams can not be blamed for is letting goals in through silly errors, and is not responsible for us not converting 65% plus possession and three times the number of shots, against teams. He might be in other areas, but  if we'd sorted those two aspects out, we would be sitting right at the top of the tree right now

Might be a good time to put a tenner on us getting promoted

Did you go to the game on Saturday?

Were you happy with what you saw?

Were the 26,000 people chanting " what a load of rubbish" hysterical and pathetic?
But it wasn't 26,000 was it? It was a few thousand in the Barclay.

And the performance especially second half was poor.

But, Petit is right. The vast majority of the comments in Twitter and Facebook since the end of the game have been angry, sneering, hysterical, self righteous and/or threatening. There may be rational debate on this forum but elsewhere it's about as rational as Asda on Black Friday. The scenes on YouTube with McNally are unsupportable. That is not fans expressing their legimate concerns. That was stupid abuse.

Sounded like more than a few thousand to me.

I dont deny there are idiots, but his general tone implies that anyone with legitimate concerns over adams' ability to deliver success, is a bit hysterical.

With all due respect, if clubs converted their chances and made few defensive mistakes they'd win most of their games. Ultimately that's what it's all about and good managers produce teams that do that, poor managers have teams that repeat the same mistakes again and again.

Saturday's "difficult" game is against a side in 23rd place. If we're seeing that as "difficult" god knows what Derby away is. You can only make excuses for managerial failure for so long and Adams has had plenty of chances to turn things around.

With respect Beauseant that isn't what I am saying, and you know that. You are trying to get my words to fit your argument

You have watched enough football to know that Adams has produced  a team that has had majority possession, and chances, in a lot of games that we haven't won, but it is the PLAYERS that haven't put them away, NOT Adams. It is also the PLAYERS that have slipped up and let the goals in, NOT Adams. Once they have stepped over the white line, there is only so much that ANY manager can do, and what I have talked about cannot be magically changed by the manager

I am not saying he hasn't made mistakes, but the points I am talking about are being used as a stick to beat him with. Not right imo.

A Manager carries the ultimate 'can', and it is a 'results' business, but he won't be sacked because we only got 68% possession, and not over 70%, and we only had 3 times the chances , and not four times, that the other team did.

Also, to answer your point,  a home loss to Reading, would in my eyes, be a more 'sackable' game, then Wigan away. It hasn't happened
