OK  wasn't good .  that win against the early whipping boys helped a lot and kept the 4 from 4.   still think we should have more  not taking chances against Palarse or Stoke  .   I didn't expect much from St Mary's  in truth ..  a draw away on any ground is a good result .    Now we wait to see whose added and what difference it will make

Its a concern that we have the same combination in place from our relegation season,   missed chances & a leaky defence,  with a v porous middle,  always a tragic combination.

the plus side is we have played with great fluency and energy until sundays game which we can only hope is an irregular occurrence.    That approach,  together with a new partner for seb and an alternative striker should see us comfortable come easter.

if we play with one upfront 3 strikers are more than enough. Dont know how many moves out are near to happen, but at the moment we are fine. Ofc signing someone who plays wide, but could play as a striker would be understandable.

I keep reading about the need for a CB but who? There aren't any decent ones out there. Remember the "promising U-21 international Ryan Bennett". Why isn't he good enough?

And after Sundays performance, a lot of the problem was full back. Let alone the one getting sent off but for their first two goals it was bad control from Brady and ball watching from Wisdom.

I am all for bringing in a top defender as it is obvious we will struggle at the back. But can all the experts tell me who this top CB is?

I have a feeling that Alex Neil will answer that question today.

It appears the manager was asked one too many questions.

I am so deflated at the moment and am looking at our squad that has increased by one striker and another left winger neither of whom have signed permanent deals- yet.

I know we have to believe the manager knows what he is doing but that doesn't stop me from just thinking maybe his inexperience held him back these last two months.

I hope to have egg on my face by Christmas.

I'm feeling a bit down about it too, we didn't need a radical overhaul but the squad just feels messy at the moment.

We've got Grabban and Hooper who don't want to be here, Lafferty who isn't wanted here, we've got no backup in defense, and we've inexplicably just let our last player of the season leave, replacing him with a one cap wonder who hasn't been decent since 2011. 

I guess a win over Bournemouth could sort my frame of mind out a bit.

disapointed, also a little disgusted by it all, never wanted  millions and millions chucked around, but thought at the very least a defender  would have been signed,  yes Alex Neil is inexperienced but others at the club have seen premier windows before.    If the people deemed the squad not quite there yesterday .. they are one hell of a lot further away now

We have three options. Martin to right-back (he's the captain, doesnt want to play there and is too inluential to upset) with R Bennett or Wisdom to centre-back. Wisdom at right back. Either Bennett at RB (though I hope we never see R Bennett at RB again).

It will be Wisdom surely. But seeing as we only have 5 defenders to chose from for 4 slots (presuming Olsson is fit) I dont think we'll be seeing any surprises.

I really fear for us if we get some injuries

Wisdom is like Martin. Probably a right back but wants to be a centre-back. Played mostly at RB for West Brom last season but apparently made noises about wanting to play more at CB
