Summer transfer rumours.

Yeah would be delighted with Wilson. Perfect Josh Murphy replacement even if it is only on loan. His record from the wing for Hull last season and at youth level speaks for itself. Would be really excited about our attacking midfield/wing options if we get him and Leitner. Just need a striker or two!

Not sure about Jordan Rhodes, I wouldn't want him to be our main striker going into the season, but if we bought him in on loan and got someone else in as our number 9 then I'd probably be happy with it. He used to be prolific in this league until a couple of seasons ago when I assume he got an injury or something? So yeah there's clearly a goalscorer in there, if we can get that out of him it could be a fantastic signing.

Shame we missed out on Ducksch as I think I'd be happy with him, Rhodes and Srbeny as our striking options going into the season. Said it before but I'd love us to get Jack Marriott, just don't think it'll happen. Tom Bradshaw maybe? Got double figures last season in all competitions in a very poor Barnsley side, only 25, probably going quite cheap, and I think would fit our style quite well. Think he'd be decent but Nick Mashiter has reported before that a few Championship clubs are chasing him, but hasn't mentioned us, so safe to assume there's no interest.

delighted with that, looked a class player and to be honest should be playing for a club much higher in the footballing spectrum than we currently are, his composure on the ball is as good as anyone's i've seen at this level

I said a few months back if we had him and Trybull as our main midfield duo next season I'd be chuffed, looks like its set to happen, add in Tettey, Vrancic, McClean and possibly Cantwell, Godfrey and Thompson and our central midfield positions look well sorted, now time to sign a striker

Aye, the consensus last season when he was on loan seemed to be that he was a great player, but a loan was going to be him getting games then going back to his club, as he was clearly too good for us.

This signing will be a real achievement.

Talk of Wildschut to Wigan on loan. If they pay all his wages fine. If not buy him. Can't keep these players on the books if Farke doesn't want them. Perhaps they'd like a job lot of Naismith and Martin as well.

I'm not Vrancic bashing, but I'm worried about a lack of goals. Think Vrancic had 1 all season in the league, whilst Leitner has 5 league goals in his entire career out of 146 games.

We were struggling goals even with Maddison banging them in all season, so you'd hope his replacement had a few goals in him.

Just trying to work out how our midfield will look tactically. I suppose if we went with one anchorman and that was out of Trybull and Tettey (and both had spells out injured, so that would be fair enough),then with a wing back system we could have Leitner and Vrancic together in the middle with a number 10 in front of them.

But then we are being linked with wingers, which would make a wing back system unlikely.

I'm assuming (and hoping) that we are signing players to fit a system, either one that we saw last season or a new one.

I mean.... losing Murphy and Maddison and having no consistent striker, gives good cause to worry about where the goals are going to come from.

To be fair we have lost 3 midfielders in Hoolahan, Murphy and Maddison, so we are only replacing departed ones.

But I have no clue how its all going to line up either!

Peterborough have told Championship clubs eyeing 33-goal hot-shot Jack Marriott to cough up £6million.

Or perhaps they will take a couple of players as part of the fee? Morris and Thompson are probably just not going to breakthrough here now, but could really excite a League One manager? Just an idea.

Aye would agree with that! After watching Godfrey pre season I actually thought he would be a regular, I think he needs to be involved this season, or he might want away.

Obviously I don't know, but I imagine our 'main' formation will be a 4-2-3-1, with 2 of Tettey/Trybull/Vrancic/Godfrey holding, Leitner/McLean in the number 10, Hernandez/Buendia and hopefully Wilson from Liverpool as our options for the wing.

And to be fair whilst Leitner's probably never going to hit close to what Maddison got in terms of goals last season, you would hope that if we sign a new striker he will be able to replicate those numbers. Plus Buendia seems like he could chip in with quite a few, as could Wilson if we get him. Hernandez and Srbeny getting a full pre-season after half a season of adjustment could perhaps see them pose more of a goal threat than we saw last year. I also read recently that apparently one of Leitner's most effective spells was when he played under Farke at Dortmund II, where he was played as a number 10. Certainly with his passing ability it's not hard to imagine him slipping lovely, defence splitting through balls into whoever our striker is. I also imagine if we decided to go more defensive away from home say, he will be used to play as part of a midfield 3.
