Pinto is entering the final year of his contract though and I doubt he'll be in any mood to take a pay cut at the age of 28, usually that's when players chase their last big deal.

You would have thought that we'd have tied him down if we're prepared to meet his demands?

Also, we were after some good right back weren't we? If we'd signed him then can't imagine the club would keep Pinto as an expensive back up player.

Just got a feeling Pinto may be off if we land a right back.

We've put in a loan offer for Kasey Palmer at Chelsea apparently, but Nice in Ligue 1 are also considering putting one in.

Struggling to understand this one. Good player who was excellent for Huddersfield when they went up, but we really don't need another midfielder. I'm happy with the options we have in central and attacking midfield, I think if we're still looking to bolster that area then we should be going in for a natural winger, like Harry Wilson at Liverpool, not someone who only really plays centrally.

Oliveira I imagine the club are desperate to get rid of (and to be fair I imagine he's desperate to move on). Not only is he probably on high wages and not delivering anything in terms of goals or performances most of the time, but his attitude stinks and for that reason I, and I imagine the club, don't want him having any sort of influence in the dressing room. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if we took a Van Wolfswinkel like hit and sold him for hardly anything, though that said I'm sure we can tempt someone into paying £3/4m for him.

Pinto I don't think will go, and I wouldn't want him to go either. Klose wouldn't surprise me and to be honest it wouldn't disappoint me too much either as I think both Zimmermann and Hanley are better, yet Klose will be earning more than them both. If we can sell him for £3/4m then I think we could replace him with someone better without too many problems. Maybe someone on loan from a Premier League club?

Clubs are aware of Oliveira’s attitude which is currently stopping him moving on. Ivo is open to leaving, he doesn’t like three at the back. There’s no falling out over it but if an offer comes in it looks like he will leave.

I should imagine if he joins then that means that Buendia is seen as a wide player, and then it will be Palmer and McLean competing for that number 10 position.

Possibly also means Naismith is going back to Hearts and Cantwell is going back to Fortuna Sittard?

If Leitner is seen as a deeper player and Buendia is seen as a wide player, then that only leaves McLean in that number 10 position?

Also if Palmer is a season long loan, and Cantwell goes out on a season long loan, then the latter can come in and replace the former next season (assuming no promotion).

Wasn't aware of that to be fair, when did that come out?

Disappointing to be fair as although he's not the best defensively I do think we are a much better team with him in the side.

And yeah as I said wouldn't surprise me if we sold Oliveira for next to nothing, just to get rid of him, seeing as no-one may be willing to pay our asking price. Shame because if he knuckled down we've seen he's a very good striker at this level. Wouldn't surprise me if he moved abroad to be fair.

I sort of assumed Buendia was going to be a wide player anyway, with Leitner and McLean as our number 10 options. Signing another one either means we've got too many players competing for that one position, or that Farke is planning on using Leitner as a holding midfielder, in which case we'll have too many players competing for that position.

Signing another winger I wouldn't be against, as we only have Marshall, Hernandez and Buendia, so not two options for each wing which is often a done thing. But looking Palmer's record is a position he has hardly played in and is probably less effective in.

Don't get me wrong he's a good player and I won't complain about us signing good players. Ultimately as well I'd rather we have too many options in each position that too few, but I do worry that our squad is getting very congested in midfield.

This is why I was wondering whether we've got a surprise to come in that midfield area Din.... Vrancic going back to Germany, or Godfrey going out on loan for another season would count as a surprise I think.

Could just be a lazy journo though.... Webber signed Palmer for Huddersfield.

Oh and surely Stiepermann is surplus to requirements now.... I know he's a utility player but we're crowded in 3 of his 4 known positions.

To be fair Vrancic has been in all the marketing for the new kit, so can't imagine he'll be off. Godfrey perhaps, but certainly the most logical step after such a successful loan spell is to involve him in the first team.

But yeah the only outlet reporting that we've made an offer for Palmer are Sky Sports, who are far from reliable. As I said don't get me wrong good player but would rather we focus on other areas of the pitch.

I'd rather have Stiepermann as back-up for Lewis, than Husband, so if we're gonna let one of them go I'd rather it be the latter. But yeah it wouldn't surprise me if Stiepermann went back to Germany, on loan or permanently.

Have actually heard of this guy and apparently he is highly rated by Dortmund. Only 20 years old which would mean our 2 first choice full backs are very young!

Certainly spells the end for Pinto, which I'm disappointed about but if he's looking to move on and he's one of the higher earners then I guess it makes sense. I hope he goes abroad though rather than to another Championship club. You would think to be fair the fact that we've bought Passlack in means that Pinto is pretty much set to move, as it wouldn't make sense to sign a first choice right back if we weren't confident Pinto will leave, much like how we won't sign another striker until Nelson is sold.

It’s come from a conversation I had with someone Friday night . I didn’t say he wants to leave, but that he will be happy to move on as he doesn’t like or fit in with three at the back. Looks like my source was correct with this new lad coming in

Don't think there's any way Jarvis will leave. Was reading a live debate on Pinkun earlier as well and Michael Bailey seemed to imply Matthews has been lined up has first choice and that McGovern will only go if he chooses to.

I imagine one of Stiepermann or Husband will go. I would rather Husband as I think Stiepermann is a better left back and is more versatile, but I imagine if either do go it will be Stiepermann.
