Jordan Rhodes deal back to being off apparently.

Really don't know how to feel about this deal to be honest, but at the very least it shows we're looking for a proven striker at this level.

If Webber and Farke are convinced that he is perfect for us then surely it makes sense for us to chuck Nelson at them as part of a deal.

Martin will be going out on loan too. He only wants a maximum two and half hour drive from Norwich for family reasons.

If that's the case then the sooner we try and get Marriott and use Martin going to Peterborough as part of the deal the better. On paper it seems to make perfect sense as mid-table League 1 is probably about his level, plus he left Peterborough in good taste before after he captained them to League 1 promotion before joining us. Offer them him, Cantwell on loan and £4m and I think it'd be a good deal for all involved.

Ben Woodburn on loan from Liverpool now being linked, along with Harry Wilson. Sounds like we're going in for both so that if we miss out on one we can get the other. Would rather Wilson personally.

Also, Angus Gunn set to sign for Southampton for £15m. Good move for him, think he'll prove how good he is.

While I really do rate Angus and think he'll develop into a top quality keeper, who could well go on to play for his country, £15m for a keeper that only has one season in the championship under his belt to his name, seems like a major risk for a side that was in a relegation battle last season

You could say the same about Maddison though.

Think I'd have preferred Woodburn to Rhodes to be honest, but will give Rhodes a chance.

Suppose we just have to be grateful that we may be going into a season with 3 or 4 strikers!

You could say the same about Maddison though.

at the same time Maddison has about 40 games for Coventry and half a season at Aberdeen to his name, granted neither of those are at a particularly high level, but it's still much more first team experience than Angus has got

I think it will be between Angus Gunn and Jack Butland for the England number 1 shirt in the future, despite Pickford's great World Cup. He is exceeding expectations but it is still obvious that he's a bit of a short armed midget and I bet his weaknesses will become more evident as he ages and can't make up for it quite as much with athleticism.... Gunn and Butland naturally more capable of making the goal look small / cutting the angles.

Can see why Southampton want him to be honest, and surprised that Man City are willing to sell.

You'd expect Butland to go for a bit more than Gunn to be honest and you'd expect Butland to be available for £15m..... but I can see why Southampton want Gunn.... Butland will probably expect to walk into the number 1 shirt, but McCarthy was in great form for them last season and they may prefer somebody to try and dislodge him?

Shame Forster is so shot really because if they trusted him to be called upon next season we might have been able to borrow Gunn from Southampton for a year!

Still, as long as we don't end up borrowing Forster or need to use McGovern I'm fine if we end up with Danny Ward or Dean Henderson instead.

Michael Bailey saying on twitter that he thinks we have a 20% sell on for Angus, as a result of the tribrunural when he went to Man City. So thats about 2.5m we didn't expect to have. And more proof that the academy is the future.
