I'll reserve judgement on this one until we see him in action.

At least Rhodes sounds very humble.

A bit of self awareness about his current status in the game is positive, knows his stock is low.

Might surprise us all.

He at very least acts as an insurance policy against Pukki getting a long term injury or flopping like Franke.

Also, I wonder how many of Rhodes's goals were set up by Ben Marshall at Blackburn. May have been attracted to the idea of playing with him again and thinks it might improve his scoring record?

Rhodes only scoring 5 last season doesn't necessarily mean that he's finished.... can remember when Iwan Roberts only scored 5 in his debut season for us, was a revelation for the next several seasons.

As I said before not sure how to feel about this one. His record up until a couple of seasons ago was fantastic, but last season he really didn't do great, and the fact Sheffield Wednesday were happy to loan him out to another Championship team also suggests they don't think he's good enough. At the very least last season all that stuff will probably mean he's keen to prove himself again, and it's a new start for him here. If he can turn himself around it could be a masterstroke from Webber. It is a risk though.

So that's our strikers sorted. Rhodes, Pukki and Srbeny. At the very least we wanted an overhaul of strikers and that's what we got, gonna be interesting to see how they all do now. One thing I will say is all 3 appear to be pretty similar. I think Pukki has a bit of pace bit he's not rapid like say a Jerome. It wouldn't surprise me if now maybe someone like Harry Wilson is still bought in, as he's mainly a winger but could play up front and has pace, like Josh Murphy. Just as a bit of a different option.

If we now get Danny Ward or another similar goalkeeper, and then shift Martin and Oliveira, I'd be delighted with our window. Harry Wilson would be the cherry on top.

Don't really know what to think of this. Our management team are not stupid, they know all about the pennies involved. The man has had a super career, big money involved but has gone off the boil. Now he is still only 28, Maybe like Mr. Holt, he will feel that he has to prove to himself and others, that there is still a decent player pulling on the shirt. He has been there, done it and has got the T.shirt. Maybe, hopefully, he wants another T.shirt. Come on down Mr.Rhodes. give it your best

Pukki looks a lot different really? Looks like a player who can drop deep and get involved more in link up play. A bit of a false nine?

I think I'm most excited about Pukki about of the three to be honest if our system next season is similar to last, when it was clear we needed a false nine type striker.

Doubt Srberny will get that much action if Pukki and Rhodes stay fit personally, not convinced that there is much more to come from him..... there could be, but my money would be on him being a bit part player used mostly off the bench, hardly set the world alight last season did he. Handy to have around with Morris out long term though.

Wigan reportedly interested in signing Wes, don't know how I feel about this, I want the best for him and the chance to stay in the championship must be very tempting, but I don't think I could bare to see him playing against us

What do we actually need now then.... primarily just a keeper? Then loan out McGovern for 10% of his wages or something?

I suspect that the club will ideally be wanting to either sell Pinto or get him to sign a new deal, and same with Klose. But if those two stay and then leave for free, then that is next seasons problem if needs be.

And if Wildschut leaves then another winger coming in probably needed?

But with no more departures, just goalkeeper seems to be the area that are insufficiently stocked?

Nope, didn't someone say he must be no more than 2 hrs or so from the City for personal reasons or some such guff. Glasgow must have moved then.

To be fair it is annoying that Rus doesn't wanna be more than 2 and a half hours from Norwich, but you can sort of see why. He's 33 this season so will probably finish in the next couple of years, and he has a young family. Like many ex-pros he probably wants to live and bring his family up in Norfolk once he retires, so uprooting his whole family to Glasgow or whatever, or moving so far away that he can't see them, for the sake of a couple of years, doesn't really make much sense. I don't know that's what he's thinking obviously but it's a reasonable assumption.

Does leave us and him very limited options though. Charlton, Gillingham, Luton, Peterborough and Southend are his only real options in League 1, and none of them might not even want him even if we offered to cover the vast majority of the wages. Maybe somewhere like Coventry or Wycombe at a push? Then obviously there's League 2 teams like Cambridge or MK Dons but it depends if he's prepared to drop that low (and again if they want him).

It was 2.5 hours which changes quite a lot.

Luton, Stevenage, Lincoln, Notts County, possibly Gillingham?.

Surely Peterborough or Southend would be his best bet, and probably his level. Not entirely convinced that he is even League 1 though.... probably needs a level lower than that. And Peterborough don't seem to sign many experience players, they seem to flip prospects for a living.

Not to put too fine a point on it, I doubt whether anybody will want him at the sort of money he thinks he's worth. May well be until he takes a dose of reality, we will continue to be stuck with him. Time he realised that he is no longer the captain of NCFC and the spokesman for Delia.

Well we'd be covering most of his wages of course..... and his new team a few grand.

Probably has to go down as Webber's first big mistake extending his deal?

At least with Franke one we'll probably end up making back most of his fee... with 2 loan fees, and the presumably a transfer fee next summer. And it isn't entirely beyond the realms of possibility that Franke would have adjusted to this league eventually.
