O'Neill has played a lot of premier games for Pompey and Middlesboro so he must have been considered a good player.
I seem to remember him being a wide player for Portsmouth when he got his £5m move, don't know when or why he moved in to the middle.

Though he has played WR when asked to, his main position is CM.

I was drinking a a beach bar (cue jealous reaction) last night with an avid Mackem and he had heard nothing of any interest in Tetty.

They're getting Rodwell now, so that might put paid to that speculation.

''They're getting Rodwell now, so that might put paid to that speculation''. . . . . on Irish radio they said  £10M !!!! ffs how many top flight games did he play in the last few seasons?? £10M seems excessive.

A bit injury prone, but a quality player and full England international. City was a bad move for him – probably motivated by money – and he needs to be a regular starter. I'd be delighted if I were a Sunderland fan, he could really galvanise their midfield.
