Tettey's yellow card deliberate?

Anyone else think Tettey MAY have gotten himself booked towards the end of the game yesterday on purpose?

He was one yellow away from 10 for the season, which is an automatic 2 game ban.

Our next two games are Wigan and Millwall.

Following the serving of the suspension, he will be free to play against Derby.

I wonder if Mr Neil had a wee chat with Tettey prior to the game. We've got Dorrans and Odija-Ofoe to slot in.

Totally premeditated. If you watch the Sky coverage you'll see that Alex calls him over shortly before the incident. Good planning because we'll need him against Derby

I personally think it was, and have no problem with that. We can definitely cope without him for Wigan and Millwall, but will need him for Derby and Boro. 

I'm not sure why some fans have a problem with deliberate yellows. It's just playing the system to your advantage imo

Defo intentional, he had a big grin on his face after he kicked the ball away.

I thought at the time it was strange and it only makes sense if it was deliberate.  Almost at the end of the game, the ref had clearly placed the ball, Tettey knocked it a few yards away. An automatic yellow card but never going to be anything more than that.

It's sensible squad management - as has been said, it's the way the system works and why shouldn't we use it to our advantage ?

Its this type of attention to detail that could make the difference between an automatic spot or the play-off lottery, certainly deliberate he clearly wants to have a minimum of one from BJ or Tettey in the side if possible.

Yeah I agree that it was intentional. Happy with that though, at least he'll be available for both Derby and Boro.
