It's frustrating because I have a lot of time for Leroy. Seems like a top guy and always made time for the fans. However I really can't stand QPR and that's been going on for around 10 years, so I really want to see them get relegated but would feel bad for Leroy.

Not the best début there for Leroy. Lasted 68 minutes, substituted after picking up a yellow card and QPR losing 4-0. Ouch!

Genuinely feel sorry for the guy, but sure he'll get better. QPR are a side of mercenaries though.

Well he played 20 minutes at the World Cup, then had three weeks off, then another week off for his honeymoon, and then a short cameo against Watford - is his own doing isn't it? Hasn't played a game in months! Did he need four weeks off after sitting on a bench in Brazil for a couple of weeks?

Oh no doubt he is probably lacking some match fitness, don't think he needed that extended break after barely playing in Brazil, he'll improve though, or at least you have to believe he'll improve.

Dont know if I want to see him do well or not. When he was our player I was happy to believe in him and will him to do well. I rate him as a player, but now he's 'the enemy' not sure Im bothered whether he does well or not. Being proved right that he is a good player means nothing to me. He didnt behave badly at the club so there is no reason we should feel bitter towards him, but cant say Im willing to champion him the way I have other players who have left us and gone on to do well like Ashton or Bellamy. This is probably because he plays for QPR. If he was turning out for Utd I think Id be right behind him. I dont care what he does in a QPR shirt

He looked good from the highlights and QPR fans on Twitter were very happy with his performance. Hit the bar and assisted the goal, so seems as though he looks decent in that advanced role, we always said that's where he should be playing. Would be happy for him to do really well this year but QPR to get relegated.

I always liked Fer as a player, except for his tendency to be casual about getting back to defend when the ball was lost.

Yeah I really liked Fer. At this level he would dominate any midfield. But I suppose you can't really argue with £10m that we got for him.
It's a shame though, because he showed glimpses particularly in the first half of last season of being a truly class centre midfielder, and I would've liked to have seen him given more freedom to go forward, which he never really got under Hughton, but is getting a bit more at QPR, hence why he's got a couple of goals. He's only 23/24 I think as well, and in my mind he has the potential to be playing in the Champions League in the next few seasons.

Why not simply re-sign the guy on a cut price deal? Pretty much all of any previous issues have gone now (he's used to the country, knows the speed and physicality of the league and has proven he can play at the top level),and we've got a stronger manager than before, who plays a better brand of football and how also clearly knows how to deal with players in the right way and get the best from them.
I'd have him back here tomorrow if a sensible deal was available.
