Tickets for the first home game, against Newcastle, on sale today, and seeing LOTS of moaning about membership schemes on Twitter. Really though, did any previous membership scheme guarantee you a ticket? I feel this will be a running theme this season, with the away game at West Ham another potential flashpoint!

Folk are "jokingly" trotting out the glory hunter label. Tempers are fraying!

If I'm ever away and you need to use my away ticket number to get to a game "oop North" drop me a message. Same for home games, I normally leave my ST with Duncan but if you're down I'm sure we can sort something out.

I live in West Yorkshire also.

Because we have no idea how many away memberships have been sold I've held off... But if it transpires that some tickets to this Newcastle game go to standard members or even ST holders I'll swiftly buy one.

If there are away membership holders moaning about missing out then I won't bother.

I think Newcastle is sold out. I have been told that they have, unsurprisingly, sold more season tickets this season, so unless you paid for the top tier home membership, you have wasted your money.

Same applies to away members, I think there are 750 in the top tier, so assuming a 2000 allocation, and most of the top tier taking tickets, those remaining 1250 will soon go in the next group, anyone who bought the cheaper away membership may as well have not bothered.

I do think that purchasers of standard memberships should be given the option of making up the cost and upgrading to premium in light of those figures, otherwise they look like a con. That's the biggest problem I have/see. Those people have paid £30 for literally nothing.

It's a bit different to the Tesco illustration in quite a few ways.

Some would say that they're content to pay for membership because it helps finance the club they love, the money will go towards survival in the Premier league or academy kids breaking through into the first team and I'll have some kudos / feeling good knowing that I'm a member of the club, pushing it all forward.

Of course some others will say that as a supporter you're tied to the club and NCFC shouldn't take advantage of that by charging fans for membership which won't fulfil their expectations regarding matchday tickets. Let's face it, we're not going to change our allegiance to any other nearby clubs.

It will probably be relatively easy to get tickets if we end up rooted bottom and looking relegated by mid-November. But anything else and first year back in the Prem and its going to be very tough for most games, particularly the Saturday fixtures.

Also, in the Championship there are teams with half empty stadiums who are prepared to give a practically endless number of away tickets for a bit of cash... e.g. Sheffield Wednesday's kop, and what Wigan did, have known QPR to budge the home fans up a block or two to flog a few hundred more away tickets. Not as likely in the Premier League..... Newcastle might give us a shit tonne if they struggle under Bruce because their season ticket renewals have been hit hard.

to me though this could of all been avoided in a couple of ways, one keep the points system that seemingly works and rewards those fans that go regularly to away games, or put a cap on the number of away memberships sold, you can't just keep saying buy the membership and jump the queue when every single person is jumping the queue

I am a ST holder and Away Member and was wondering that if I really desperately wanted a particular away match ticket, would I be better to get up nice and early and travel all the way into Norwich and queue for the ticket from the box office? How many staff serve those wanting tickets on these occasions? What time do people start queuing? I was going to rely on the online service but for the Liverpool game, I logged in at 9.00am to be told there was a 45 minute wait and then eventually told it was sold out. It really is going to be a dust up for each and every away game. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. OTBC

I think the feedback from Liverpool tickets appears to be that the club hold some for online sales, some for phones and then the ticket office have some too. I guess it depends what games you want to do too, any London/ big six matches will be difficult, Burnley or Southampton easy in my opinion. If you decide to buy online again the only thing you can do is be on the phone at the same time, it may help

I live in Fleggburgh which is about 14 miles east of Norwich. I have thought about queuing up and phoning whilst in the queue. Will that work?

I notice that you can buy the VIP trip to guarantee a ticket and a coach ride to away games but the West Ham game is over £270. We are not all that wealthy! The VIP Spurs away game is already sold out! I am desperate to go to the West Ham game as I have friends who are Spammers and would like to meet up and enjoy a sociable beer with them before the game. If I can't get anyway ticket I may be forced to get a home ticket!
