Ok, so the rumors are pretty strong that we have signed him.

Why in the name of all things green have we signed another central midfielder?

I could accept the best defender we can afford or two.

I would applaud a proven 20 goal a season striker or two.

BUT yet another midfielder?

Yes, we are not finished yet, however, the business so far is testing my patience.

Probably because we have lost a central midfield player in O'Neill and probably at least one or two more in Dorrans and Mulumbu.

We can blame defence or strikers for our demise but I believe in reality that it was our one dimensional, flairless midfield that was the real reason we floundered. And until we address that problem, we will not be long serving members of the Prem.

It's hardly likely to be our only signing. Don't see how a window where we've yet to sell anyone in a fairly quiet window for everyone so far can be testing anyone's patience.

I assume Tommy Toshiba is Aaron Tshibola?

As said we are most likely to lose at least two of our previous season midfielder. O'Neil went already and Dorrans or Mulumbu are likely to follow, if not both. Even if they would stay signing 21 year old somewhat rated midfielder who has championship games under his belt is not a stupid move when we clearly need players to grow behind old guard. McGrandles will possibly never come back from that injury and Andreu will either go on loan or be sold. VOO is questionmark. That leaves us quite narrow midfield anyway.

Nothing says yet that Maddison, Thompson or even Tshibola would fit straight in to the first team next season and it is good that we have already options there for pre-season as most likely one or two will go on loan. Howson, Tettey and Hoolahan will give us solid midfield, but season is long so at least 6 men in those midfield slots is a must.

From those 3 probably all are going to be fine players in championship and even thought their level would not be enough for premier league we will either get our money back with bit extra or have solid squad players in future if we fail to get promotion. Good signing if true.

Seems to me that Thompson and McGrandles probably aren't going to make the grade. As Lavanche has said, others could very well be leaving too.

Signing a 6 foot 3 English powerhouse of a midfielder with lots of time to develop is not something I'd complain about.

Let's hope it happens.

Looks like we have signed him. He is 21 years old, you would hope that he would he ready for first team soon?

There are a few players that age at our club not getting games though, lets see.

We have resigned / extended contracts on a couple of donkeys and let a quality player go. Nine? players have gone so far also.
