Regarding loan players, either out or in, isn't there a fee involved which may or may not cover the player's wages?

I was just thinking that with so many out on loan, we might actually be financially better off especially as these players aren't using other club resources.

Generally the club the player is loaned to will cover the wages, but in certain circumstances the home club may pay some of the wages ( if they are desperate to save at least some money, or they see the loan as particularly beneficial to the players recovery / development) or the loaned to club may also pay a loan fee in addition, if the player is particularly desirable.

When does RVW contract come to an end as I can't see Real Betis wanting to keep him, still he did play 90 mins against Barcelona and he ran around a lot?

On the evidence of watching one Portugese top division in the flesh in 2013 I recognise how RVW could score all those goals, it was akin to the SPL in quality and Hooper had a similar record at Celtic.

Further, Football Italia says we have definitely offered £7M for Rannochia but strangely says which is higher than Inter value him at?? Many times capped by Italy and skipper last season and he isn't worth that much? Not as much as Tyrone Mings? Surely he must be.

On Hooper, I have a mate who's a Sheffield Wednesday fan who called Hooper fat and useless. Says that he's been in the right place at the right time a couple of times to get goals, but other than that he offers virtually nothing. Doubt they'd want to sign him perminantly based on that.

Its odd, as there are still so many people who rave about his quality. Maybe they are basing that on never actually watching him for 90 minutes.

I heard similar from a Sheff Wed fan after his first 8 appearances, but in his last three games he has 2 goals and 1 assist (1 per game). 

So looks like he has started to make more of an impact with match fitness and apparently almost scored a worldie the other day. 

He's a quality addition to any squad in the Championship I think, and sure we'll be get a few million for him. Just completely unsuitable to be played as a lone striker at this level and therefore doesn't fit into our plans. 

Actually scored more goals per minute of action than any of our strikers last season. With a full injury free season he's a 20 goal a season Championship striker, just one who isn't good enough for the step up. 

15 years ago when 4-4-2 was still common in the Premier League and people would play a little and large combo with a poacher up top alongside a Dion Dublin or Chris Sutton I reckon he'd have been a valuable asset.

Ranocchia's star has fallen at Inter over the last year or so, hence why they are prepared to sell at a reasonable price. I suspect that he's a secondary target behind N'Kolou as Kone seems to be set for Sunderland.

To be honest it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Tim Howard is well past his best at Everton and fans calling for him to be replaced, and Ospina wants out of Arsenal. 

Wenger has been linked to Ruddy in the past and Everton would be an obvious move. 

If it did happen I'd want us to bring in an experienced pro as competitiom to Rudd, rumours that QPR want Robert Green off of the wage bill so perhaps him.
