Apparently Liverpool made a late bid for Maddison but couldn't get it over the line.
Amazing that we've attracted a player who knew that Liverpool wanted him, if that is true.

Taken with a pinch of salt but sky reporting that Coventry turned down a 7 million pound bid from Tottenham as well as there being interest from Liverpool & Arsenal

Obviously we are not privy to the negotiations, (a fly on the wall would be fantastic though) but having Murphy there on loan would almost certainly have helped.
It may well have created some goodwill between the two clubs if we have looked after Cov's interests or helped them out, plus there would be conversation between the two lads about NCFC and the prospect of being in the same team together at some point in the future.

Okay I take my words back. Should have just trusted that they will know what they do.
Even thought I'm not still 100% happy with the main signings, signing 3 promising young players and Pinto takes it over the bar for me and we really look a bit further than just surviving a season and thats the way it should be. Even thought none of the three youngsters are ready for jumping the premiership they at least give us the cover, if we relegate and Maddison specially is a player who could be worth of all the money when Wes retires and he fulfil his potential.

Just watching Posh v WBA.
That number 36 for Posh looks lively, Martin Samuelson? 19 years old. On loan til end of season, he only looks about 14 but stands out in this game.
Maybe one for the summer.

I'd imagine that West Ham will be looking to hang onto him, unless we get relegated of course and they want to loan him to a championship side. :-/
